"We'd just fallen apart so much, I couldn't stand the sight of him anymore, but after just twenty minutes Write or Die saved my marriage, I mean, Nano!"

;)

I don't think I've seen this mentioned so far (it could just be me being unobservant) but I thought I'd share a link to an amazing tool that is saving my nano.

Write or Die puts the "Prod back into productivity!" You can set both the time and word count aims to whatever you want for a session, and then type away.

Here's the catch; if you haven't written anything for too long, it varies depending on what setting you're on, then the screen turned red and it starts wailing sounds at you until you start typing again. There is a pause button, but it only works once.

I usually set it quite strict and give myself 20 minutes to write 1000 words which is ace for squeezing into breaks between lectures and stuff ^^

Love it! A shame it doesn't really give rewards for good behaviour though... I guess I'll have to invent that scheme myself =)

I tried it, but then I exited out of it by accident (when I had like almost 1,000 words.) and it asked if I wanted to copy it to my clipboard, so I said yes, and it didn't work!! *cries* now I have to rewrite it, and I'm home sick today, so I didn't really want to do it at all and now I'm sad.

I'm sorry you lost your words :( I did that once, but found that if you've accidently navigated away, if you hit backwards or forwards (I guess depending on which was you went) your words should *hopefully* still be there.

i did go back, but it wasn't there then either. It's ok, though, because I've rewritten everything I lost anyway.

I love this! I just wrote 600 words in 20 minutes. Which, for me, is very good. I'm an extremely slow typer.... especially compared to others.
I realized that I said I'd be gone for only two weeks...but I was gone for much longer.I hope to stay on this time. :)
