Tell me if you think the plot is cheezy, k?

Dreaming of You...

Ashley has lived in Oxford, Washington all her life. The typical city girl living in a small town type of thing. But lately, she's been having the most unusual dreams....she's been dreaming of her perfect match. Chocolately Brown Hair, dreamy emerald eyes, and her perfect match in every other aspect, too. Oh, she knew he was real. Something inside of her.....the very core of her being, screamed out to her to search for him. So, when her, her single mom and best friend, John, take a trip to the gorgeous Colorado, Will she find the love of her life? or instead...find herself.

it sounds good to me. good ahead with her, because it will keep bugging you if you don't do it.
"I love you," she whispered in his ear, before taking his mouth with her own.

It sounds like a good plot - the appearance of her dream-man sounds slightly cliche, though. Perhaps you did that on purpose.

I'm not sure if this would be the correct forum for posting story ideas - maybe you could do a little blurb of the first chapter with the plot outline so we could sort of see where you're going with it? It's hard to tell how a plot is going to be until we see how you're writing it.

Also, look at your original post - you had a funky thing going with the font there. Before and after your actual post you had this:

Which was a little off-putting.

Anyway, I'd say definitely go ahead. The worst you can do is try it, find out it's bad and scrap it, right? But I doubt that will be the case.

Good luck!
Yours ever,

EDIT: By "the appearance of her dream-man" I mean the actual physical thing. Emerald eyes, for instance, is a very cliche description. Just wanted to make that clear. Sorry! *signing off* ~ Kool 8)

oh, yeah i know what happened with the font thing made it confusing. lol. i was trying to actually make it that font....but i guess it doesn't work on the forums or something.

lol yeah i know the whole description thing is cliche, but i couldn't think of anything else green to describe his eyes....trees? nope. that wouldn't work. lol. umm....grass? nuh uh...emeralds? Bingo!! lol. yeah, so that was pretty much my train of thought....and his hair, the brown thing...well this guy was pretty much based off of one of my old best friends that i had a huge crush on. except his eyes weren't green, they were brown, and i didn't want to make the dream guy exactly like my guy. lol.

The plot sounds interesting but needs a little more developing. I would warn you to focus a lot more on things beside this boy's physical beauty if you want the readers to like or relate to him. Also, one of the thing that endears me to characters are their flaws-physical or emotional. Add a little conflict to the relationship and some danger and then you will have the basic ingredients for a great story. Let me know if you decide to write more, however you choose to develop it.

Is it any wonder that I feel uptight?
Is it any wonder I don't know what's right?

oh, well yeah I'm going to add a lot more detail to it once i start writing it. I'll definitely put flaws in each character, including the main character, and dangerous situations. i don't want it to be too cheesy and all focused on just the romantic sappiness...lol, but more like real life.

anyway, thanks for the review!

it is slightly cheesy yet interesting and original, and what good story doesnt have a little bit of cheese? I think you should definetly do it. Writing is only really important if it feels right for you. So if you like the idea then I think you should do it!

sounds good. you would definately have to work hard on it to make it original, because there are a lot of 'finds herself', 'love of her life' books out on the shelves, and you would need to in some way make this one different, readable and believable. However, it sounds like you have some ideas, and the blurd doesn't give away too much, so i say write it and then post it here as soon as your done!

I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.
