Julia laughed. "Sure! I need a little exercise."
The trio started walking over to the magnolia when Mike paused, turning towards the drink stands nearby.
"Hey, I'm gonna go get us some drinks," he said, and started walking away from the tree.
Julia and Jared watched him walk away for a second before they headed towards the tree again.
"Do you think you can get up?" Jared asked once they were directly under the magnolia.
Julia put her hands on her hips. "Only if you help me." she laughed again. The lowest branch seemed to be 50 feet up!
"Oh, c'mon. It's only three feet higher than you are!" Jared said. He reached up to the branch and grasped it, pulling himself up. He turned once he was on the branch, reaching for Julia's hand. She took it, and was surprised at how warm it was. It felt like he had just got done running a lap, except without the sweat. He pulled her up with ease--maybe a little too much ease, because he had pulled her too far. She ended up on top of him, giggling.
"Sorry," Jared said. "You're so light!"
"I'm not that light," Julia said as she got off of him.
"How much do you weigh?"
"Between 110 and 118 lbs."
Jared smiled. "You're light."
"Here, guys! I got us all Coke, if you don't mind," Mike said, handing the drinks up.
