alright, so, i'm planning on posting all of this book chapter-by-chapter at some point, however a certain person (hobbes) has been bugging me to post the ending so he can read it...so...hobbes, speaker head, CKE, whatever you want to be called...this is 150 points spent for your almost instant gratification...
PS: it shouldn't be too hard to understand if you didn't read the book...you probably just won't be too into it...reviews are still appreciated...
PPS: i suppose this could also be considered an epilogue...that's it...it's the epilogue...
---------------------------
The days, weeks, and months that followed passed by slowly and with great sorrow. Ceremonies were held for Jasmine and Thomas and for others--who had lost their lives. Events were steadily inclining from there: Joshua and Ancion led a group to recover the former king of Isaldier and a banquet was held in the newly repaired palace in his honor. Ancion was made the new king (officially) and all seemed good.
However, shortly after Ancion was crowned king, Keara disappeared. And though Joshua's fevered attempts to find her lasted weeks, she was never found.
Spring launched out at them with a series of violent thunder storms.
Ala spent most of her time--no matter what the weather was like--indoors. She was with Will almost all of the time and was rarely seen by anyone else. She eventually grew tired of what her life had become and made the difficult decision to leave...But not alone--with Will; her nephew and heir to the throne of Isaldier.
She had had a letter written for her that she left on the counter in the palace kitchen.
The sky outside was dark and threatening, but Ala wasn't going to wait. She warily crept through the kitchen and to the back door--holding Will close to her.
"It's a little late for a snack, isn't it?" Joshua asked from behind her.
Ala jumped and spun around--sword in hand.
"Whoa...Don't kill someone." he laughed--putting his hands up in mock-surrender.
"God, Josh, you scared me half to death!" she put her sword back into its sheath.
"Yes! Now I just have to do it one more time!" he smiled. When she gave no reaction, he sighed, "So...what are you doing?" he glanced at the note on the counter--following her momentary gaze. "You're leaving aren't you?"
Ala nodded solemnly.
"With Will?" Joshua rested his hand on the child's head.
She nodded again.
"I'm sorry to hear that..." he said glumly. "But what I'm even more sorry to say...Is that I can't let you go alone."
Ala smiled as he followed her outside. She hadn't expected him to volunteer to come, but it would be a lie to say that she hadn't wanted it.
"So...Where were you planning to go?" Joshua asked, helping her onto a horse.
"I don't know...Where ever I have to go..." she shrugged.
"Nice...You're startin' to sound like Jasmine." Joshua mounted his own stallion.
Ala tried to conceal a smile.
She made sure Will was okay in front of her. She nodded slightly to Joshua and he grinned widely; "Let's hit it."

David pulled his hood up over his head as a soft spring breeze blew lightly across the ground. His red eyes glowed wildly out from behind his overlong bangs. He watched in amusement as the two horses galloped off. He knew exactly who was on them and smiled wryly to himself.
Dark, ominous clouds covered the moon; casting a shadow over the valley as rain began to fall.

and--just for those of you who don't know...the last paragraph is the first paragraph in the prologue of this book.
