Ok i am in computer class looking in the gallery for new avatars nd we find a koala pic. Well the teacher comes up and tells me and chika that you know how koala's eat eucaliptus leafs(some poisonous tree) well the mother has something that destorys the bacteria and the babies end up eating there moms poop because the bacteria is gone. :mrgreen:

Well my question is do you know any weird facts about animals?

I can't remember which frog it is, because this is something I did in year 7. But we had to research frogs because we were making beanie ones (by research I mean look at all the pretty ones XD).

Anyway 1 of the 6 frogs I found on Encarta swallows it's eggs and when the frog is born, it regurgitates them. Nice...

The couple I already knew that I found the strangest;

An ant can lift up to 50 times it's own weight

A mayfly has one of the shortest life spans of any living organism. It's life span is about half a day. It lives to reproduce; it doesn't eat, it doesn't drink, it dies the same day it's born.

BUT, I looked up some really strange animal facts on Google:

-A pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
-Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (LOL)
-The ant can lift 50 times its own weight, can pull 30 times its own weight and always falls over on its right side when intoxicated.

-A crocodile's tongue is attached to the roof of it's mouth.
-A giraffe's tongue is about 21 inches long.
-Elephants are the only animal that can't jump.

fun fact: the sperm whale has the greatest penis in existence, 5m (!) the gorilla's is only 5cm (so dont pay attention to stupid movies) and the komodo dragon has to penises. Also the komodo dragon's bite is very very poisonius. Ostrich's DONT shove thir head in the sand trust me I know we have an ostrich farm also ostrich's meat tastes like beef.

More about the Komodo Dragon's "poisonous bite.." The reason it's so deadly is because it contains millions of bacteria.

Acctually my uncle has it and its not very far from where i live about 9-10 miles or something. very awesome and cool. Did you knew that ostriches can live on -20'C? And EVERYTHING on and in hte ostrich is used, from toe nails to eye lashes. Even the eggs are used for making lamps. I have one.

A komodo dragon's bite technically isn't poisonous, as they don't secret poison. Their saliva just happens to hold about 70 different kinds of deadly bacterias. I've seen documentaries where natives that deal with them wear, like, ten foot tall stilts.
