does anyone know if the parky patch outside buckingham palace is theoretically long enough to land a plane on???
also does anyone no if there are any tank/army festival in London held at some point in the year, or if there is any museum of a similar descpription?
sorry these qus may seem a bit random, but I'm interested in them possibly for a new story

It's got quite big grounds, and it's pretty much surrounded by parks, on one side is St James's Park, above it is Green Park and behind it (but over a big road junction) is Hyde Park. I don't know if any of it's big enough to land a plane on. Hyde Park is huge so I'd guess so-how much space do you need to land a plane?

The Imperial War Museum in London I expect has tanks and stuff, since it is a war museum.
Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher. ~Flannery O'Connor

i think u can land in a plane in under a mile (depends on the plane)
but really i want it to taxi up to buckingham palace and wreck the place a bit, but not a lot, and kill most of the people in their...maybe a cyanide bomb
however im not an expert on death and the internet isnt that great either

Ditto what Gahks said.

Anyways, I'm not sure, but doesn't it have a lot of protection? Meaning they wouldn't let someone crash into it? I'm not entirely sure, but I'd assume it would have a lot of protection, like the White House. You know, the whole 'stay at lease x feet away?'

Though I've never really learned much about the place, so what do I know?

Well, it's an urban myth that the Mall can be quickly converted into a runway should the Royal Family need to escape quickly. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but you could incorporate it into any story you're writing. I doubt the parks could be used to land a plane, as they're all covered in trees.

And yeah, try the Imperial War Museum. That should have any information you want on the subject of, well, war.

St. James's park, which surround the Palace proper is VERY large, it could easily accommodate a small airport...However, this would not happen. The parks of London are protected land.

The military display i think you are referring to, is for the Queen official birthday.
