The Sad Secret about Atlantis and why it disappeared

Poseidon Zeus and Hades basically drew straws to see who got the Heaven Zeus got the Heaven Poseidon got the Sea and Hades got the submerged ground.Atlantis was a magnificent city it was basically Paradise but Paradise does not last as you find out in this story.Each part of the City was connected by Bridges and the walls of Atlantis were made of Oricultoust a material that was never to be seen again.Atlantis had a something more powerful than mere electricity but a power more powerful than you could imagine.But the just when everything was going huckydory Atlatian started testing on people and turning them into mutants.Poseidon was angered by this and sunk the city never to be resurfaced. (Side note i did not copy this is all i have learnt from Atlantis in my life time)

I suppose but what about Vampires they could just be Myths

I don't believe in vampires either . Especially not the 'europian' vampire (inspired by the novel Dracula).


Anyways, here's (some) of the reasons why I don't believe in your story .


1) The three God drew straws? That seems a little... well, modern.

2) What about the other Gods and Godesses? Why didn't they take part?

3) About Oricultoust - if it won't be seen again, how come people know about it?

4) Why can't Oricultoust be made again?

5) Why experiment and mutate the other Atlantians?

6) You can't sink a continent in the sea. It doesn't float on water y'know.

Well drawing straws was all i could think of and the other gods did not take part because Zeus Hades and Posidion are all the most powerful gods anyway different stories for different Civililistation and the reason the material cannot be made again is that the secret of the material disappeared with Atlantis.I don't know i just know that wat the legend says that Atlantis started trying to be god and to make more powerful people is that me explained myself now.

My Ancient Greek Mythology is quite rusty now a days, but I'm fairly sure that Poseidon wasn't particualiry powerful. I'd have thought Athena would have taken his place.

And secret or no, I have no doubt that it could be made again. Scientists can create elements that don't occur naturally (though these 'new' elements only last for an extremely short time) so there's no reason they couldn't mix together such a compound as Oricultoust.

He was in charge of the ocean half of the world wait not even half about a 7th of the world is covered with the sea that would make him really powerful and the material cannot be made because maby it not supposed to be made again say the TPTB aka The Powers That Be

Uh...I don't understand why this is in the debate forum. It's MYTH. Debate is for REAL things.

Actually, the vast majority of the world is covered in sea . Around three quarters of the world's surface is water.

As for the TPTB, why won't they let anyone else make Oricultoust?

God knows i am not a person like them and also Atlantis is a serious discussion sort of i find it serious

Personally, I also think it is a myth, but... Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were brothers, and most powerful among the other gods once the titans, their parents (lowsy ones, if you ask me) were defeated and cast out, stripped of their powers. They drew straws because that was one of the very few ways to settle this in a peaceful manner. Oricultoust can't be made because no one knows the real formula. I mean, even if you know a cake has flour, chocolate and many other things, that still doesn't guarantee that you know how to make a cake. What else... Gods can sink continents, because they rest on giant plates of rock. if you move the plates, something falls, other things rise. It is esentially how earthquakes work

Whats Oricultoust?

Atlntis may have existed. WHy would it not exist? Becuse it is not possible? (! ?) What IS possible today? How do you define possiblities? I see the atlantians as a antion that has evolved log before the mdern man, or after the destruction of the city, their blood mingled with the blood of the then not so modern man. Also the three of them are powerful dieties but I dont belive they were the strongest ones. Except for Zeus.

The gaint plates of rocks are the contanents. These types of plates are called 'Continental Plates'. Earthquakes are caused when two plates hit (Destructive Plate Boundary), or rub against each other (um... I've forgotten... damn, my Geography GCSE exam is in a about weeks time...).

Mountains and Volcanos (I asume that's what you mean by 'rising') are caused by plates hitting or moving away from each other (in this case, magma rises and fills the gap, which can form volcanos).

I have no idea what you mean about things 'falling'. Unless you're refering to a fault (such as the San Andreas fault line) - but nothing actually falls.

What I'm trying to say is that even those plates rest on other plates beneath them. If you move the lower plate, it will create an empty space, a hole, in which a continental plate can collapse
