"You know, most of the night classes. Defense in the Dark Arts, Shadow Slipping, stuff like that...." She shrugged and watched Lottie, wanting to touch the fins that had now dissapeared.
"The regular classes. Along with Morphing, Talking to Animals, Singing, basic water baby classes." She was still staring at my legs. "So you take most of the night classes?" I asked, putting my hair in a pony tail.

She noticed that Lottie had seen her staring at her legs and moved her eyes away, "Yeah. I sometimes pick up on people's thoughts, so I really need to start paying attention in class." She sighed and sat back down in the grass, "I guess that's why I'm worried about having friends, because I'm scared I'll invade their privacy."
"Really? You shouldn't be afraid. Plus, you've already made one friend." I smiled.
"Thanks." I laid in the grass with her.
"You probably have class with professer Vardinion." I said matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, I've heard kids say he's mean."
I laughed, "Only if you don't know him." he'd probably get mad at me telling a student he was actually nice but I didn't care.

Lilli laughed lightly and turned to the teacher. "Mrs.Tatum. We were yelling alot at each other after math and now he can't talk. Please excuse him," Lilli smiled sweetly and the teacher sighed.
I smiled and took out a piece of paper. "We were yelling? About what?" I teased. "Thanks. Why is accademics such a big thing at this school? It's like the students don't know how to think for themselves. they have to be perfect or suffer from being shunned for bad behavior." I gave it to Lilli.
Lilli read the note with the frown. Us being what we are the teachers don't think we'll be excepted into society by humans if we aren't well educated. Most kids that are not educated here wind up on streets...that's why I'm trying so hard to keep my rep up. She smiled and handed it to him, winking.
I laughed. "Yeah...I suppose. But...why must we be well educated in order to be accepted? I had tons of human friends..and they prefered me defying rules, than following them. A lot of people are sheltered here..."
"Matter of fact, I think I do take him....wow, maybe I should get my face out of my books every once in a while." They laughed together. "So, is he actually nice?" She smiled and yawned; she was normally in bed right now.
"Yeah, he's a big softie. He'd probably kill me for saying that but he is." I said smiling. "Are you tired?"
"A little I'm usually in bed now." She replied.
"Oh, then you should probably get sleep so you don't fall asleep in any classes. I'll meet you before you have to go if you want."

She blushed a little, which made her pale cheeks really brighten, surprised that she really had made a new friend, and looked down at the ground. After a moment, she looked back at Lottie, "Sure...that would be...awesome." Smiling, she almost chuckled, for she had never used the word "awesome" before.

I watched from a little ways away, listening to the girls conversation. I shook my head at Lottie's antics-honestly, that girl was too much.
As soon as the other girl left, I came out of my hiding place.
"I'm a softie, am I, Lottie?" I said to the girl, in my darkest, most frightening voice.
"I move the stars for no one."
