"Aww, come on Sammy. There's going to be other stuff besides just dancing. It's more like a party." I said smiling. "And who said you had to go alone?" I asked Leon.

I looked over at Sammy.
"Live a little, huh?" I said grinning.
Sammy gave me a dead stare.
"Having a dance could be dangerous for other students though." I said.
I stared at Sammy. "Hey Sammy can I talk to you over there a minute?" I said pointing to the other side of the room.
"Sure," she said getting up.
Once we had a little pirvacy I asked her, "What's wrong? You've been getting pissed at Leon and me all day." I could've just read her mind but we were best friends and I didn't like invading her privacy.

"You remember the old story about Tama the lead guardian don't you?" I asked nervously and she shook her head no. "Okay, everyone listen I've got to tell you guys something." They all gathered around and she took a deep breath. "Around twenty years ago there was this cat demon named Tama. She was born here and basically live here. Her parents were only sixteen and seventeen. She dedicated her entire life to this school. One day when she was in seventh grade she killed her entire class. In ninth grade she was madly in love with a vampire, who loved another half vampire. One day, the vampire she was in love with caught his girlfriend, the half vampire, cheating on him. He fell into depression and ran from the school and back to his family, where he became a true vampire all over again.
Tama watched her love die right before her eyes in a fight between his family and the school. She continued her life with no problem...until...she had me that is. My father was a vampire and my mother was Tama. They got into this huge argument about me becomeing a full cat demon or a full vampire. They killed each other and left behind a part of each of them." She pointed and the silver cross on her necklace.
"The cross represents my mothers love in God. The red jewels represents my fathers thirst for blood. My birthday is coming up soon and every year it's the same thing. I'm questioned by both families and put through a living hell all day. Since my birthday is the day of the dance I'm really agrivated. Don't take it hard if I'm mean to you it's just all this crap is annoying."
"Do you know which you'll pick?" I asked quietly. I didn't want her to get mad, I just wanted to know. I'd never known her to like either part of herself more than the other, but I'd never known she had to pick either.

"I don't know. I might just stay half and half. It's more fun that way!" She smiled. "I need some fresh air. I've already studied alot," she stuck her tongue out and walked out and across the courtyard.
I was tempted to go after Sammy but I thought she might want to be alone. I wish that I had known about this sooner. I can't believe she was being pressured by her family. I would think staying the way she is would be the best way and the most fair. I looked out of the window and up at the sky.
