the clandestine launderette

People have secrets.

people are beasts in clothes,
monsters dressed in fanciful attire.
A woman is a serpent with a sense of
what to wear and what to spare.

But clothes have secrets, too.

the launderette beats the secrets from the clothes,
washes clandestine confessions from the sheets.
she presses kimonos, who tell tales of scandals,
rags that weep of poverty.

and so she weeps along with them,
bitter tears and soapy water, bombers bombing,
Hiroshima weeps with her, together and alone,
one washes, the other dies,
and both sink in secrets.
Alice: If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Beautiful!

This was my favorite stanza. :D
They tell me I'm a lazy lump of waste.

I'm just too humble to show them my genius :D

I really liked it. I adore the idea. It's unique and your use of language is brilliant. The imagery is lovely.

To be a master of metaphor is the greatest thing by far. It is the one thing that cannot be learnt from others, and it is also a sign of genius.
