Hello, I am the Medusa.
I was born and bred in the sonoran desert, and I am sixteen years old, my favorite age to be so far.
I have indeed graced this website before.
I enjoy food, cooking and eating, and one of my dreams is to own a restaurant and hang my paintings and other works of art on the walls, like an edible shrine. I also love latin dance, bellydancing, and at times even hip-hop. I spend most of my time failing my courses, which I've been doing since I developed a distaste for the education system of my general area. Besides that, I write poetry, song lyrics, short stories, unfinished novels, essays, and at the moment, letters. I paint abstract potraits--at the present, I am doing a series on angels, although I love painting religious symbols, as well as interpreting the art of my favorite artists--Jackson Pollack, Georgia O'keefe, Andy Warhol, Clive Barker, and Marilyn Manson.
Music is also a big part of my life. I currently only actively play the violin, which I have been doing for 11 straight years now. I am part of an orchestra, as well. I also sing as a hobby. I listen to music 24/7, on the radio to school, on my MP3 player, on my stereo, on my computer, live, you name it. I love classic rock, including the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac pre-Stevie Nicks, the Police & Sting, etc.. I also love contemporary rock, mainly alternative and indie, but some heavy stuff too: Coldplay, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Gorillaz, etc. My favorite musicians of all time are Eric Clapton, Jack Johnson, Amy Winehouse, and Marilyn Manson. Jazz and Soul also appeals to me in the sense of Billie Holiday, Sinatra, and Costello. Latin and Raggaeton, as well as Brazilian are good.
I have also lived in the Bay Area. I plan on attending college in Flagstaff, a beautiful mountaineous area, graduate school in either London, Oxford, or Amsterdam. I plan on attending the famous Iowa Writers Workshop. Afterwards, I will probably be somewhere in the middle east, presumably Afhanistan, to do journalism on the conflict there--although journalism in Rwanada/Darfur/Haiti would be acceptable. When I am through with that, I will work for either a prison system or the FBI as a forensic psychologist, because I would love to work with criminals. By the time I am past my prime, I plan on moving to Tibet/Nepal, or somewhere along those lines, and live out the rest of my life in a monastary.
Religion is also a big part of my life. I am a mix of religions, which may seem impossible to you, but I have my ways. My roots are in three major religions: Christianity, Zen Buddhism, and Islam. I read on a daily basis both the Bible and the Koran. Don't be surprised if you sense a hint of religious-ness on my writing or in my speech.
Well, now that I've sucessfully put you all to sleep on my Life Story, I will exit in an orderly fashion.
:]
