Pity and Compassion

The humanity of mankind is still water full of gems and pebbles that everyone must sift through and take what they can before they’ve drowned. Our slowly suffocated lives allow us to swim in weightless days of contentment and solace. These bland days are agreeable; however, they lack the true passion instilled in humanity’s ticking clock.
Fulfilling our passionate souls means braving the triggers we tempt daily. Our personality determines whether or not we sprinkle the gunpowder needed to ignite fits of rage or depression. Meandering through life void of these intense emotions can meld inside of us a plasma of boiling emotions. There must be some form of spillover within; some way to justify yourself in this unfair world and move forward in some way.
A common coping practice is pity, which only reveals weakness. That is not to say compassion is unwarranted, but most forms of pity only expose you to treachery and deception. The difficulty is in deciphering the compassion and pity code. Acting compassionately towards another leaves the two entwined individuals on agreeable terms. However, pitying another leaves a condescending tone pressed down on the other and ends with a weakened and outstretched arm shielding the other from further harm.
In the modern world pity isn’t acceptable. Nearly everyone is full of some kind of self pride and has no wishes of pitiful actions to support any weakened frames, for there isn’t a weak person out there who isn’t equal, no matter the circumstance, and to treat them as such only breeds your own misfortune.

A faulted misfortune of your own can come without expectation and even in those moments of cleansed spirit; in these personal eras, the twine of your emotional string dangles loosely and everything in your life seems calm and sorted. In these soothed waters, you must always stay aware of those motivated around you.
Everyone has something missing in their lives and if you aren’t well informed of those straining the rope of your ascent and allowing the freedom of contentment they may tire and release the rope. We are all mortal, and although our emotional ties bound within are rarely stretched taut, everyone has had moments where their emotions overwhelm them, physically and mentally. This is our human allegiance; our emotions have power to cripple us inside and out.

Everyone knows their own flaws, yet we entrust others and spread the burden of holding our emotions intact upon others with differing yet still dangerous flaws. We are bore into this risk; our cultural conditioning is rooted in social interaction.
There’s blame placed upon the news and widespread media sources for desensitizing the population. The reports emit continuous cold records of personal tragedy and those inhaling the pollution have lost their shock and human empathy.

This may have truth in certain respects; however when it comes to facing severe personal misfortunes the feelings are nearly surreal. Those involved succumb to the same fear, depression, sadness, anger and spacious emotions as individuals from previous decades, centuries and millenniums. The torment is cratered in our emotional atmosphere, the means of coping has changed, yet the same innate feelings remain, thus solidifying our humanity and witnessing our ancestral mortality.

You know what the big problem is in telling fantasy and reality apart? They're both ridiculous.
