Made-up words

As writers, we have the freedom to play with and abuse our language. We invent phrases, find new uses for words, and even make up our own. Writers such as T. A. BArron and the writers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer are experts at this. Share ones you've made up here.

Examples

Quicklier (short for more quickly)

squintify (Made this one up when I was reading a book that was too big and I thought they could make it easier to carry if they squinified the font and spacing, ie make it smaller)

confusation-confusion

luverbaly-usually sarcastic, like "lovely" or "That's just great". Usually directed towards my mom.

confuzzled - cross between confused and puzzled

okay, first up i love these two:

noodle- new poodle
fried chicken- fricken

and now mine

banocolate- bananas and chocolate
snazzfest/y/erific/tastic/tabulous- basically, cool, but a funner word
snoozic- boring music

ah, i have so many, these are the semi-sane ones

Oh yeah, I know confuzzled. One of my favourite abuses of the English language would be something said on Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

"I'm suffering from the afterness of a bad night of badness." Not going to explain it, though.

Here's one my friend made up: Saying "shiny" rather than "cool"

I got really bored one summer and made up a couple of words. Here's one:

Well, a couple of weeks ago, my mom told me that she wanted me to stop calling everything gay instead of stupid so I made up Happy Wad instead of Gay Wad or I say Yag instead. LOL!

I really don't make up words but I will now.

I tend to add ness onto the end of words-

Hugeness
Coolness
Greatness
Gorgeousness

Other than that, I don't have much.

Yeah, adding "ness" to things is fun. I seriously once heard someone say "stay-in there-ed-ness"

Haha... I do that too. 'Cept I'm more likely to add "ish" or "ified" rather than "ness."

But I also like:

sweetness

As an adjective for something that you would say YAY! to...or something. Who knows?
