Are the names of chapters included in the word count? If so, then I have hope. All my chapters begin with, "In which..." Thus I have, "In which Lissa's injuries are realized" which is nice and long.

Sumi, I hate you... >< And yes, Twit! Count chapter titles. ^_^ If you go to the NaNo Forum you can find a list of all the things to count in your word count.

You know, there is a way to shut that off.

Honestly, if you do keep editing, you won't finish. Trust me.

2,960, I've probably spent about two and a half hours on it, a big chunk last night and the rest split up in little bits whenever I could get on at college.

I'm going to get 5-6k by tonight, even if it kills me. *is very determined*
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

I hit 2000 words. Taking a break now.
"He yanked himself free and fled to the kitchen where something huddled against the flooded windowpanes. It sighed and wept and tapped continually, and suddenly he was outside, staring in, the rain beating, the wind chilling him, and all the candle darkness inside lost."

Agh, I'm only at 50! [well, I've only been writing for a few minutes, too...] And if you don't want to see red, then type in Notepad instead of Microsoft Word. Then you won't be as tempted to check your wordcount every five seconds too
