I'm not expecting ANYONE to take these seriously, but I was in trouble and bored, so I decided to write some lame haiku's. Most are random objects in my room, (twinky, progress report, ect.)

My math grades are crap,
An A in writing class,
I've made a haiku

There is a twinky,
It's sitting there on my desk,
I think I'll eat it

Why don't you eat cheese?
It is very good yum yum,
Oh... diarrhea

Haikus are easy
But way too boring, Snoring,
Dang I am so lame

OK... a few SOMEWHAT serious haiku's

Standing in the silence
Then I hear someone shout "FREEZE!"
I'm in huge trouble

We had laughed so hard
But then you started crying
Now we feel guilty

Like I said, they're all random and simply out of boredom.

Way too random.

heheh you sound like me- a bit ADD!
Although I admit, I kinda liked the last serious one.
Anyway, good for a laugh, love randomness. :D

OMG! You should publish a book of these! I think you've just started a fad of random haikus. Seriously, I love them. Write more.

Those aren't exactly haikus, though. I'll quote what a dear friend of mine said in response to my own humorous "haiku" as I thought it were.

Kit wrote:Technically, this is not a haiku, it is a senryu.
A haiku relates to nature, environment, usually they're pastoral in nature.
A senryu relates to humanity and is usually humourous or satirical.

So, there you go.

They were all silly....erm....yeah. Kind of a PS: don't post something unless you seriously mean for us to take it seriously and critique it seriously. You could always post these sillier and less meaningful things in your blog. All I'm saying is: don't spam the poetry forum with poems you aren't actually putting your worth into :-D

I like the last two and the first three were hillarious. Someone should write a funny book of funny haikus.
Weird, but whenever I read haikus the voice in my head reading it is japanese.
I am so weird.....
Funny: write more

Definitely random.

Careful on your syllable counts - there were a bunch of six-syllable lines in there (namely the first and fifth ones). I didn't mind them (they were, after all random - there was nothing to mind, like, or dislike) except for the one about haikus being easy and boring. It's not poetry when you put words together with line breaks interspaced throughout. It's not a novel if you give it a title. It's not a haiku because you counted out five, then seven, then five syllables. I know, I know, they're random, I shouldn't act like they have any meaning, but if I don't take any meaning away with me, if I'm not affected by them, then not only do they fail as poetry but I fail as a reader. This is just a rant, then, I suppose. Ah well.

I have a few things to say:

1. These are not technically haikus.
2. As Clau said, please do not post work you aren't serious about.
3. I hate haikus and see absolutely no point in them--they take no work at all.
4. I found these amusing, I laughed, and I was grateful for the break in a stressful day. :D

*puts on straight face* But seriously...1 & 2 are important.
