The monsters are having a party
at fifty-six grove hill lane,
the monsters are having a party
and it's really quite a pain!
There are goblins in the basement
and witches on the stairs,
mum's in her bedroom -
they've given her a scare!
There are ghouls in the bathroom
and giants on the rooftop
and werewolves in the kitchen
chewing up the mop.
There are vampires in the living room
drinking all the tea,
but the biggest monster of them all
is ME!!

I wrote this in year three, so don't be too harsh. It's actually quite worrying that I can still remember it!

Hee hee!

Oh, that's nice! The utter chaos of the situation is familiar to me. :) There were maybe two lines that I tripped over, but perhaps I read it wrong. I liked it very much.

Have you ever heard of Jack Prelutzki? Your work reminded me of his, in a way.

Keep it up!

All the best,

Goldie

I like the chaos this poem described. I remember when I was in year 3. Year 3 was a good year but, I digress :) Honestly I really liked it. It's silly in a good way!

This was really interesting and for grade 3? Nice job. I won't be too harsh, lol, it was only the fact that some lines seemed forced to rhyme and didn't flow like the other parts. That and puctuation. That's it. I wasn't harsh at all and I got out everything I wanted! :)

Nice job, Keep at it!

A humourous and resonant poem simple and child-like in its vernacular but resonating deeply in its message of humility. I liked it.

Loved the chaos and disorder in this poem!

Amazing for that age!
