PLACEHOLDER! I have something I want to write in place here as soon as I'm done cleaning the house (in about an hour)

(I just now noticed the place holder so I will change this post if necessary. This is the first post on Carmenia!)

Tied to the post as she was, Carmenia managed to get glimpses of what was happening. Goblins were moving in a great noisy mass into the cave where she was being held captive. A rough-looking dwarf wearing blood-splattered clothing that was among them drew her attention, and she was desperately curious as to what he was doing, and if he would live to see another sunrise.

Although she was concerned for the dwarfs well-being she was overjoyed at this distraction and took the opportunity twisted the ropes holding her in captivity, hoping to loosen them. But it was to no avail, the bristly ropes that burned and scratched her wrists would not budge. Suddenly she spied a goblin who was obviously watching her. She froze. Averting her eye's she stood still and awaited what she was sure to be her death.

(Its okay, Priss, actually it helps my post)
Valin Norovir:

Alden's gem had some how lessened the ward. The only problem with that, however, was that now they would think they had a mage with them, and the closest to that would be Valin--with his slight ability to manipulate fire.

"Alright, now, Hold fast. They undoubtedly have already sent a horde of Goblins toward us, we must prepare to meet them," Valin said, drawing his sword.

Tan'quin drew his dagger, and prepared to fight the little demon creatures, Sirloaz drew his weapons as well. The only problem was Alden...Griffons usually fight airborne, but due to the dense tree growth, he could not get airborne. He would have to make due with fighting on the ground.

No sooner had they prepared for battle, then were 50 Goblins upon them. Valin was in the thickest of the fighting, cutting, slashing and stabbing at all of the little stunted creatures he could reach. Occasionally, Valin shot short bursts of flame into large groups of Goblins, incinerating them. However, whenever he did so, he would appear visably weaker for minutes afterwords, and goblin attacks that would normally be deflected or blocked, landed home. Even though he was still on horseback, his thighs had become noticeably scratched and cut, and a small amount of reddish brown blood was oozing out of the wounds. Valin fought on, however, knowing he didn't have time to dwell on it.

Tan'quin fought like a lion, cutting, hacking and slashing into as many of the little enemies of the forest as he could. He would sever the head of one from its body, and immediately without pausing, in the same motion, thrust his wickedly curved blade into another.

Sirloaz, also fought bravely, eliminating as many as he could possibly take out.
Alden, hampered as he was, fought bravely. Hacking and slashing with his beak and claws, and whipping his lion-like tail out in every direction knocking the goblins in unsuspecting, prone positions, that made it easy for him to deliver the coup d'grace to them.

Within minutes it was all over. 50 or more dead goblins lay on the ground around them. "Sirloaz, Tan'quin, search the bodies for anything useful. I must heal myself. Alden, do what you will with those that aren't useful," Valin said, hinting that they could be eaten, if Alden so desired.
Valin quickly walked into a clearing away from all the others, in order to administer healing herbs on his wounds. He peeled off his armor and clothing from the open flesh, where the blood had already begun to dry. Quickly he applied all the necessary herbs, and reapplied his clothing and armor. While he was not completely healed, he would be within a few days.

(OOC: I hope this alright. If not, lets just say they get attacked and fight their way out, Valin gets wounded and they make their way to Sedgeley. Kay?)

The dwarf approached the priest, the dwarf was flanked by two goblins.

"The dwarf has challenged you for possession of the tribe."

The priest went cold. The goblins were stupid, but these were their customs. He would change them as soon as he won the battle.

"I accept." The goblins surrounded the two combatants. The dwarf had retained his axe. The priest brought out his sword.

The dwarf was angry and violent, that was something he could use to his advantage. He let the dwarf attack, he parried and took a step back. The dwarf swung again, but the priest again stepped out of reach.

He repeated the pattern several more times. The dwarf would attack, he would step out of reach. The dwarf was persistant, but he also had short arms.

After twenty misses, the dwarf became frusterated.

"Stand and fight you coward," the dwarf called.

"Will you renounce your claim?" the priest responded.

"No," he said. Well, at least the dwarf knew what would happen if he said yes.

The dwarf swung a few more times, which the priest evaded easily. Finally, he yelled a battle cry and charged.

The priest uttered a few words, sending the dwarf flying towards the other side of the ring. Without waiting for the dwarf to recover, the priest charged, sword ready.

The battle had begun.

OOC: Sab -- could you change your post please? It was way too rushed and everything happened to quickly--it should have taken your group a lot longer to arrive at the mountain cave and not being idiots, you should have scoped the situation out -- ie a duel was occuring -- instead of rushing in headlong cutting and slicing. So, just some alterations and extensions to your post would be good. Post in Discussion..

OOC: I agree with Jig, Sab. It all happens too fast. And I don't see how you could all kill 50 goblins. And then listen to some trees. And then get to the the mountains a couple of days away. And then save the day ... all in one post. Try not to make your character a superhero.

Yeah. I know its kinda lame. I was trying to post three days' worth of posting in one post. I'll edit it tomorrow.

[Under Dono's instruction, ignoring Sab's post until it's been cleaned up. Also--if anything needs to be changed, let me know!]

"Cyrus," Seraph rumbled under his breath, his tone warning. The dwarf ignored him and launched into the Goblin camp. "Cyrus!" he hissed. Again, no response. Why did these people always ignore him? As he watched, though, he began to think that maybe the dwarf's ostensibly suicidal plan hadn't been so foolhardy after all. He had, after all, attracted a goodly number of Goblins with this duel of his--and as a fair few of the Goblins were also sleeping or eating, as they were living creatures with certain requirements (as much as Seraph hated to admit it)... well, it left a lovely little opening.

It wasn't easy. Several times, Seraph was sure it was over, the Goblins on duty would catch him, and they'd all die. But eventually--somehow--he made it beyond the mob attracted by the duel, past a few dozing guards, and behind a stack of barrels that reeked of some sort of preserved meat. Trying very hard not to breathe deeply, Seraph glanced past the barrels to see the first of three posts. Finn leaned back against it, her head forward; the auburn hair that had escaped her braid fell straggling into her face. From this angle, it looked like she'd been crying, but he doubted she was capable of any emotion other than anger or indignance.

He moved forward, crouched just behind the last barrel. From here, the Goblin guards shouldn't be able to see him, and they were deeply involved in a game of knucklebones (and a flask of some foul-smelling alcohol) besides. "Finn," he hissed under his breath.

She stiffened a little, and he winced, hoping she wouldn't make a fuss and get them noticed. "...Seraph?" The inquiry was so quiet he wasn't sure he'd heard her correctly. And, miracle of all miracles, it appeared that she'd pronounced it correctly.

"Don't speak. Do you have any of your daggers?"

She shook her head almost imperceptibly. Seraph grimaced, then retreated back behind the barrel to search the cave floor for any chips of stone sharp enough to cut through rope. Finally he found one, and crept forward again and began sawing at the ropes. To her credit, Finn didn't so much as twitch when the sharp edge chafed against her wrist. Eventually the bonds gave way, and Finn's shoulders sagged a little with relief.

"Wait here," he breathed, before moving on to the next captive.

Misspriss or Jack... either of you feel like taking this further?

Do you mean us posting on our character or us finishing the post for you? Anyway, I'm a little confused as what is happening...the last thing I knew the war was waging, and now it seems as though it hasn't even started yet, I'm not sure what to do...should I go back before my character was cut loose or should I have her continue fighting?

Before your character was cut loose. Sab is going to clear up and fix his post; disregard it for now.

[Ahhh! Okay, that helps. But I'm kind of stuck at what to write next...I mean, how much can I write of her being tied up? Oh well...I think I'll wait until someone cuts her loose (again! :-)) and then I will continue my posting...]
