What You Called Living Was Mostly Narration, and Now Even That Is Failing You

At first, you stayed with it the same way the animals did. You slept on the floor beside the bed. You beat your old analog clock over the head until it was a bloody pulp, until plastic teeth scatter across the carpet. You were human. You believed in rituals, in funerals. You spoke out loud, narrating small actions -- I’m opening the window, I’m making tea -- as if language could keep time from coagulating. You spoke aloud because silence felt like a second death, one far worse than the first.

Goals:
25k? maybe?
i have a lot of ideas, so i want to *narrow* them down
rewrite the ~5k i already have
scrap the working title for something better

The most relatable thing <.<

The blurb conveys such raw vulnerability and isolation. Best of luck with the project!
“It is always sad when someone leaves home, unless they are simply going around the corner and will return in a few minutes with ice cream sandwiches.”
- Lemony Snicket

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that life's going to launch you into something great, so just focus and keep aiming.
