Hello! This forum is for me to allow myself to be excited for the things I write and read. There will be blurbs of synopses, journal entries, mood boards, character studies, and anything I find that will help boost my inspiration. When I talk about my work, it makes me want to actually write, so this forum's sole purpose is to keep me excited and motivated to get going and not give up on creating. It may be a little random, but we can find inspiration in the weirdest of places. Also to note, this is primarily for all fiction writing, whether novel or short stories. I will refrain from posting poetry and poetry-related-inspiration in here. I will also try to refrain from spoiling much of my work, and basically use this as a place to get me going on whatever I am writing. Maybe I'll share some work inspired by this place, maybe not, who knows? Anyways, that is the gist of this place.

Synopsis:

Daisy Winslow and Theo Gardiner met in high school, and from then on, their paths crossed multiple times throughout their formative years. Despite the instant connection and unique understanding towards each other, along with a shared passion for filmmaking and stories, the time never seems to be quite right for anything more. As life happens and the two grow as individuals, every encounter begs the question on how they feel towards one another and towards the life they want to live. Will their stories one day become truly intertwined, or will it never quite be the right time?

Quick journal entry:

Something I have been wanting to figure our with this novel is why am I writing it? Well, of course I am interested in the premise and I've created real characters I care for, but what am I trying to show and/or portray through this story? I had been trying to figure out how the themes and story can glorify God while actively keeping Him out of the story in hopes that it wouldn't "scare" anyone away from the novel. This realization has shown me that my fear of man far exceeds my fear of God in my day-to-day life, and I have allowed it to perpetrate into my art. I cannot create a story centered around the lives and growth of two characters and yet fail to have them grow in God, the One who gives Life. Anyways, this has sparked a new flame of inspiration in me.

The contact that read “Theo Gardiner” collected dust in her phone, and in all her spring cleanings, she couldn’t bear to touch it.

Small Journal Entry: As I think of quotes and develop this outline, I am not 100% what I want the course of this novella to look like. I know the beginning (barely), and I know the end. Everything in between is like a confusing mess that I am trying to pick apart to gain a clearer image.

Something I've really enjoyed is incorporating interests and things I think are really cool into the stories I write

With N.Q. you see my interest in cinematography, stars, and chess.
In another story you see my interest in piano, math, and teaching.
And in another story you see my interest in fairies, magic, and flowers/gardening.

Writing IS personal!!!

After a few days of being in a lull, I am determined to kick up writing today. Going to do some reading to help inspire me before I jump into it. I've made lots of progress on the outline, too! Especially for the first half of the story.

Part of me wonders if a reason why I'm struggling to write this so much is because maybe I don't want to write something really realistic and want to have more fun with this and the plot/storyline of the book is more dramatic and not so exciting...
Maybe that isn't my style? My poetry is more dramatic, realistic, raw, and personal. Perhaps I want my fiction work to be more fantastical and thrilling?
