Okay, so - at this point I would like to introduce you to one of my many stories. This one is still on the border of massive worldbuilding and current writing (I have already written a few scenes and the first draft of the prologue). The main character is fifteen-year-old Jaqueline (nicknamed Jaque) - the youngest daughter of the pretty grumpy and old-fashioned vampire Sir McEesh (it's a play on words in my native language). I know it sounds pretty stereotypical at this point, but don't worry - I hate love triangles and enemies to lovers (and actually the romantic part of literature in general), so Twilight vol. 2 you don't have to wait (I could talk for a long time about how much I don't like Twilight, so let's skip ahead). The story takes place in a completely different world. We have some similarities with ours, yes - but most things are completely different. To speed things up a bit. Jaque must join the family business; to professionally stealing blood for donation from medical clinics in our world (yes, I work here with parallel universes because I love them).
The whole work is, so to speak, a parody of dump tropes and common stereotypes in the literary world. Probably most of the characters (if not all) are queer, but there is no emotional rollercoaster going on. And don't count on the typical "all but the main white straight character are queer people who die for character development or whatever". Nope. Be gay, be vampire, do crimes is now a main motto of the book.
