He shook his head, grimacing. "We have to wait for Derik."
She glanced at her.

Ky sighed softly and nodded. Fine, then. She glanced towards the mead.
"What?" Jerica looked back at her.

Tomhas glanced at it as well, then at her glass. "Do you need more?" he asked worriedly. "Don't give her any." Gaius returned. "She downed the glass I gave her quicker than anyone ought to."
"Nothing." She shook her head. "Your uncle is just awfully familiar."

"You told me to drink it," Ky retorted, sulking back into her seat. She didn't want more anyway. Well... no. She didn't. She shook the thought away. She needed to be in full control of herself to meet this terrifying man.
"I mean, he looks just like Ky," Jerica agreed with a nod. "It's really weird."

Ky cast an annoyed glance at him, then remembered she was supposed to be on her best behavior. Couldn't have them changing their mind and handing her over to War Lord Ainsley when he showed up. So she returned her expression to neutral and glanced away, wrapping her arms around herself tightly.
"I think he's in that one." Jerica gestured at a nearby door.

Sera dipped her head and knocked, then stepped inside.
"Ky." Tomhas looked at her. "This...isn't necessarily a bad thing, what you're going to hear. It could be good."

Jerica walked in behind her. Rek glanced up at the knock, furrowing his brow when he saw the woman. Why was there a woman in the dormitory? Especially one who clearly wasn't a soldier? His brow furrowed even further when he saw Jerica behind the woman. Was she in trouble? What had happened? He stood and took a step towards them, concerned.
Ky glanced back at him, worrying her brow. "What is?"

"Hello." Sera dipped her head to him. "My name is Sera Miller; I'm the apothecary here. Jerica wanted to speak with the General so I escorted her here."
"I can't--" He gave her a pained look. "I'm sorry. I can't, not yet."

“Hello,” Rek said hesitantly, looking at Jerica suspiciously.
Derik was in the corner with his shoulders propped up against his headboard but his eyes closed. But upon hearing Jerica’s name he opened his eyes with a sigh. Why couldn’t she behave? For five minutes? Was that really too much to ask?
He rolled off his bunk and straightened his shoulders and strode towards the door. Why was the apothecary with Jerica? He’d put money on this meaning that she didn’t obey and stay in the barracks like he told her.
He glanced at Sera. “Hello.” He dipped his head to her.
“Yeah.” Ky hugged herself tighter. “She said I look like her cousin.”

Derik sighed again and looked at Sera. “Is there a place we could have a bit of privacy?” If Jerica wasn't avoiding him, knowing fully well what a lecture she had coming, then he didn’t want witnessed for whatever she had to say.
Ky frowned at him. “You don’t seem very surprised by that.”
