“Of course!” Ky nodded, smiling. Then she hesitated. Surely that wasn’t something that she could only have because she was family. Gaius wouldn’t deny his guests tea. “I’m sure they’d let you have it if you asked yourself.” She paused, thinking of how little she liked asking for favors, even now. This didn’t bother her. But she could understand if it bothered Ada. “I don’t mind to ask, though! Tea would be nice right about now.”

Ada paused. She should probably take Ky up on that offer, but she didn't particularly care to learn Upper Tongue. It was too different from Akarataran, and she probably wouldn't have much reason to use it once she was home. "Maybe," she said warily.

Ky offered. She legitimately didn’t mind, but she also wouldn’t be offended if Ada turned her down. It took a lot of effort to learn a new language.

Ky nodded. “I have no doubt. Even I get frustrated with learning languages.” And Ivar seemed frustrated from the moment he laid eyes on her. “But Rickard has promised to help, yes. And he and Gaius are going to help me practice Nortung. Hopefully if I can pick that up quickly then it’ll make things easier.”
