We have private medical aid but I think it has already run out…

Yeah. We have like:

- 2 x visit for a control at the dentist, eye doctor, etc...
- free visit for the normal doctor
- no paying for an emergency transport
- Free glasses every two years for up to 1000 Euro


BUT

You pay usually for some benefits like

1st class room in the hospital that isn´t part of the free healthcare
TV, place of the room, etc... Like all the special needs.


But yeah, international basic healthcare! Why does the WHO exists, when it only says, we have now a pandemic?

1000 Euros for glasses! No... mine cost a quarter of that and after all our medical aid is finished.

250 Euros is really cheap and still expensive if you compare not just the bills, but also the salary between Germany and South Africa.

It’s about 5 thousand rands. I say my glasses cost that and I sound like I’m bragging. A hoodie is 150 rands, that’s not even 10 Euros…
