i believe the national minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, but some states have a higher minimum. except for waitresses, they're expected to get tips, so their wages are usually like $2/hr plus tips, so good luck to them -- better smile darling, amirite?

For reference, an average fast food meal here is $10-12
