The Inbetween

With a sigh, Neo sat up; he was growing uncomfortable with the number of scuttling sounds he could hear below the floorboards. Hesitantly, he glanced over his shoulder to see the strange duo still sitting there.

Idalia saw him looking and waved at him. "Hi!"

"Hey, you," Blaze said. "You aren't from around here, are you?"

Neo shook his head, unmoved from the floor. “What is this place? Please don’t say it’s Hades.”

"Hades," he said quietly. "That's... I've heard that name before."

Idalia looked curiously between the two. She didn't recognize that name, but it seemed to have an impact on both of them.

Neo’s face paled.

“Oh great,” he said slumping back against the floor, “I’m dead then, aren’t I”

"I don't think Hades has anything to do with this place,though," Blaze said comfortingly. "Where are we, incidentally?"

Glancing up, Neophytos tentatively pushed himself to his feet - plant still in hand - and edged again over towards the table, careful not to flip it this time. Biting his lip, he shrugged and glanced at the woman. One of them had to have answers, surely.

Idalia shrugged dramatically. "Id'know where we are!" She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, but only succeeded in making the room spin.

"I see. I assume neither are you are from this place either. In that case, would you like to stick together to see what we can make of this situation?"

Neo grimaced. He looked at the duo - looked around the tavern - then back to the duo.

“Alright,” he shrugged. Wandering around lost in a group could only be better than wandering around lost alone.

Idalia nodded. Even in her inebriated state she knew that traveling with people could get her answers.

"Good, that's settled," Blaze muttered. "I vote that we kidnap a local and force information out of them."

Neophytos began to nod his head in agreement when his brain did a double-take.

“Wait, what?”
