I generally write in the evening because the warm colours give me a sense of nostalgia, and I find that very inspiring.

Whenever inspiration strikes! Inspiration doesn't grow on trees.

I mean it does, but those trees are locked up inside a vault and DJ Khaled and Gordon Ramsey have the only keys. Legend has it that you can only get in if you're smart, loyal and have never overcooked a meal in your life.

I generally have the most motivation in the morning- it's a new day and I can generally get myself excited about hitting a word count in the morning. c:

NIGHT!

It's quiet in the night. Helps me think better :3

Nighttime. All of my duties have been fulfilled, so I get some time to write.

What kind of answer is "whenever the inspiration strikes"? Surely it's still better when inspiration strikes at some times than others...
Und so lang du das nicht hast
Dieses: Stirb und Werde!
Bist du nur ein trüber Gast
Auf der dunklen Erde

(And as long as you don't have
This: Die and become!
You are only a gloomy guest
On the dark Earth)

- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I do prefer writing at night, but it really depends on when I'm feeling motivated. For me, it also depends on where I am, because sometimes in the afternoon is more motivating then at night, but it really all depends on when I have streaks of inspiration.

Usually, my best writing time is between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. Lately, due to my schedule, I've been writing a bit later and sometimes if I'm really inspired, I'll write when I get up in the morning, so it varies... but usually I prefer to write somewhere in the afternoon/early evening.
Hear me out, there's so much more to life than what you're feeling now. Someday you'll look back on all these days, and all this pain is gonna be invisible. - Hunter Hayes

Where's the "when I'm not working" option?

Weird schedules are weird and don't allow for "regular" writing time, and inspiration likes to strike right at the end of my breaks.

I write whenever I can, pretty much, but last summer when I was trying to write as much of my novel as I could in a month, I found that starting to write in the morning helped me not procrastinate and got the ideas flowing.

I mostly write in the nighttime as it's when I'm the most productive when outside of school, specifically around 8 PM- 2 AM is when I like to write most. ^^

I find it best to write right then and there as an idea hits you head-on! I mean, c'mon. Who could resist that burning desire to sit down somewhere and put that fantastic idea to great use when it's still fresh?

Whenever inspiration strikes but for me that mostly happens to be as I'm trying to go to sleep so second choice would be night.

I write in the afternoon. It's the sleepy, cooling-down-but-not-quite-ready-for-bed feeling that gets me feeling cozy and ready to be inspired.
