December Art & Photo Contest!

Welcome to the December A&P Contest thread! This is the chance for you, quiet stalker of the Art & Photo forum, to shine brighter than Christmas lights on the Trump Tower. This year, we give you your December contest in two categories: Art...and Photography. Easy enough to guess, right?


How To Enter

How this will work is that you may submit three entries into each category. In both Art & Photography, we will divide into Beauty, Originality, and Holiday Spirit. You will have until December 25th to submit your entries. Up until that deadline, you may swap out your choice of entries, but as soon as the deadline strikes: 25 December at 12 midnight GMT, you may no longer edit your submissions.


Submission
Submit your entries into this thread. Try to keep them to one post so they're easier to keep track of. You have until 25 December at 12 midnight, GMT to submit and edit your pieces. After that mark, you may no longer edit.


Judging

Your entries will be judged on Beauty, Originality, and Holiday Spirit. The one that excels in each category alone will be an honorable mention. The submission with the highest total score, however, will be our winner. That goes for Art and Photography. This year, our judges are @Lumi, @Holofernes, @Omniclysm, and @AriaAdams.


Awards

All entries will receive a participation badge per category they submit to. Winners will receive a special commemorative badge. While your participation badges are:

you can expect the victors' badges to have more gold embroidery or something more victor...ish.

Are the entries supposed to be Christmas/ Holiday themed? (just to clarify)

They...certainly don't have to be, but seeing as Holiday Spirit is one of the judging criteria, I would suggest it. ;)

@Lumi So just to clarify: Every picture is being judged based on all 3. OR there are 3 possible categories, and we pick one. Because I thought the initial post was saying one thing, but then your later response to Craz made me rethink that...thought.

I'm so sorry @Adnamarine. I'll clarify and make the original post seem clearer.

To determine the ultimate winners, all entries will be judged on all three categories. However, there will be honorable mentions for the ones that excel in each category of judging. That's how the winners roll out instead of having 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There's just first and three honorable mentions.

two questions:
Can they be photos/artwork that you've done previously? I took some really quality pictures of winter last year and stuck them in my blog. Can I enter one of those?
