Arannis Starflower

Return to A Lost Tomb

Creator: ScarlettFire
Roleplay: A Lost Tomb
Nickname: Aran, Ari, Little Flower

Name: Arannis Starflower.
Age: 124.
Gender: Male.
Race: Fey'ri (half elf, half fiend).

Role: The Fighter (bladesinger).

Appearance: Arannis has dark red hair, amber eyes and pale skin with a set of scars across the left side of his face that vaguely resemble claw-marks. He's only about 5'9, average build and has some very small horns that are as dark as his hair and barely noticeable unless you really pay attention. His hair is mostly loose except for a couple of braids on either side of his face and reaches at least mid-back. He tends to wear dark, earthy tones and a black cloak rimmed in red-brown fur over dark leather armour, and he carries an elegant, simple sword. He also has a dagger tucked into one boot for insurance, if needed, though you probably wouldn't spot it.

Personality: Arannis is a quiet, curious, thoughtful and protective young man, but he is slow to trust and cautious. He's also loyal, but almost to a fault when he makes a friend. He prefers to hang back and see how things seem to be going before he'll step in and help; he's an observer first and then a fighter. Arannis isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, either--an influence of his fiendish mother--and isn't above stepping in front of a blade for a friend--his father's influence. He's only a litle vain--in the sense that he'd really like to hide the horns, but knows that he cannot.
-Strengths: curious, thoughtful, protective, loyal, willing to help whenever he can--once he's analysed the situation.
- Weaknesses: slow to trust, sometimes too loyal, willing to get his hands dirty or step in front of a blade meant for someone else, a little a lot reckless.

Magic: As a Bladesinger, Arannis has some magic. Not much, but enough to say, coat a blade in flame or frost, if he wanted to.

History: Arannis was born to a fiendish mother and an elven father, though neither truly wanted him. His mother left before his was five, which left his father to raise an unruly, half-breed amongst an Elven forest enclave. The sight of a red-headed, horned child running amok was, at first, a shock, but it steadily grew into something normal. Arannis spent most of his early childhood exploring the forest surrounding the enclave before hitting the unruly teenager stage, where he discovered his attraction for both genders and one particularly pretty blonde elf in the community. She strung him alone for a bit before harshly rejecting him--and at the same time, Arannis discovered his talent for magic. He apprenticed to an elderly Elven bladesinger and learned as much as he could before he left his home behind and became a wandering sword-for-hire.

A century--and several betrayals--later, Arannis is a cautious young fey'ri with trust issues a mile wide and a point to prove, which led him to Rurik's contract and his fellow party members.

Up For Love: Definitely! No preference.

Other: His mother is actually a fiend lord, but he didn't find that out until very recently, which is why he doesn't use the Elvish translation of his name. He also speaks common (the language most of Ibessa speaks), Elvish, some Dwarvish and a variant of fiend that he struggles with a little (and prefers not to use at all, if possible).

This report, by its very length, defends itself against the risk of being read.
