Lira

Return to Kingdom Hearts: The Storybook

Creator: Mageheart
Roleplay: Kingdom Hearts: The Storybook
Nickname: Lira

Name: Lira

Keyblade Design: Protector

The Protector is a keyblade that highlights how its user gains their strength from defending others. While the keyblade can be used by those without a need to protect, it will never be as strong. The sleek, black keyblade incorporates small, ornamental shields into its design, as well as constellations that change to match the constellations of the world that the user is currently on. Like most keyblades, it's a long weapon. Besides its stars and shields, the keyblade has a relatively simple design – symbolizing how its user draws from their own strength to help others, rather than relying on an external force.

Native World: Destiny Islands

Gender: Female, she/her.

Age: 15

Appearance: Lira is average height for her age, with a lack of noticeable muscles. She has long, light brown hair and light blue eyes. Her current outfit is a blue sundress that fades from a darker shade of blue at the top to a lighter shade of blue at the bottom and a pair of old sandals. The other noticeable thing she has is a silver charm on a rope bracelet around her right wrist – it's half of a heart that says “best friends” forever on it. She has the friends part; the other's owner has the best part.

Personality: Lira has a generally upbeat personality and a curious nature – she loves learning about Destiny Islands, and has always been thrilled at the thought of seeing other worlds. But she's also defined by her loneliness. It wasn't by choice, but Lira is solitary. She can handle being alone with her thoughts, though she ultimately prefers to be with other people.

Lira is also a kind person, but sometimes she struggles to make the right choice – picking one struggle to help with over another is never an easy task for her.

Brief History: For the entirety of her life, Lira has lived on Destiny Islands. She's spent her childhood chasing after waves and seashore creatures, creating epic adventures that are usually slightly edited reenactments of books she's borrowed from the library her mom runs. For the first six years of her life, this was considered the normal way that things were. She didn't need friends during those early years – everyone was a “friend” just because she knew them.

But just a few weeks shy of her seventh birthday, Lira met her first true friend. His name was Levi. His family, according to him, were travelers. She never saw much of them – just glimpses of colored, unfamiliar hair and tall, intimidating figures out of the corner of her eye. Levi wasn't always on the island; when Lira was a teen, her mom would admit that Levi had just been a figment of Lira's imagination. Levi gave her the charm she always wears during their friendship. They continued to play together in the wildest corners of the islands until she was ten years old. Then Levi disappeared, and Lira reluctantly returned to a life of books and solitary adventures.

Talents: Lira's a natural born mediator, and has a massive well of random, sometimes useless knowledge thanks to her frequent bingereading sessions. Her kindness and friendliness make it easy for her to get along with almost anyone. However, she is not docile. She has an incredibly fierce loyal streak, and can do amazing things when it's to protect the people she cares about...even if they're practically strangers.

Other: The charm that Levi gave her actually had a matching bracelet, but she long ago outgrew it. She made a bracelet with the charm on it instead; it rarely comes off. Though Lira has a generally cool head, she's shown to get impulsive and rash when ownership of the bracelet is threatened.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
