Prince Tobias Liones

Return to Seven Deadly Sins: The Storybook

Creator: Mageheart
Roleplay: Seven Deadly Sins: The Storybook
Nickname: Tobias

Name: Prince Tobias Liones

Role: Youngest Member of Royalty

Race: Human

Fighting Style: He has a sword that he can theoretically use, but his ability to wield it is questionable. He's also supposedly been learning magic, but he neither confirms nor denies this.

Sacred Weapon: N/A

Gender: Male, he/him.

Age: 16

Appearance: Tobias has long, scarlet hair that goes down to his waist - it's almost always worn in a long braid that runs down his back. Some of his hair isn't in his braid, and this hair goes down past his chest in two distinct strands.

His eyes are silver. Tobias is white, lean and slightly on the tall side.

As of right now, he's not wearing much clothes underneath the suit of armor he's been roaming the countryside in - his royal attire was too bulky to fit inside the armor. Still, he does have one consistent part of his appearance: an necklace his sister Margaret gave him as his present on his fifteenth birthday. He treasures it greatly.

(His clothing’s description will be updated as the story progresses.)

Personality: If Tobias had one defining trait, it would be his kindness. One could even say that he’s too kind - he’s willing to do a wide variety of things if it means helping or pleasing others. He typically tries to avoid conflict when possible, though it is becoming increasingly difficult now that he’s traveling in search of the sins. He values his family. While he may be kind to strangers, he’s especially willing to make sacrifices for those he cares about. At the beginning of the storybook, he cares the most about his father and sisters. As the storybook progresses, this will extend to the sins and Hawk.

While his kindness may suggest that he’s on the quieter side, Tobias is actually quite the extrovert. Unless they outwardly express their discomfort about a conversation, he will chat with even the most reserved of people.

Lastly, Tobias has an incredible thirst for knowledge. He will learn in whatever ways he can, even if said methods are a bit dubious. Though he almost always has a book on him, he also has a fondness for talking with people about their lives. (He’ll show this in the storybook by asking the sins about their lives before and after the event ten years ago.)

Up for Romance: Sure! He's bisexual.

Backstory: Tobias was adopted at a young age, and doesn’t remember much about his life prior to ending up as part of the royal family. He grew up loved by the king and his two older sisters, Margaret and Veronica. He was especially close to Veronica due to their closeness in age, though Margaret was the one who doted on him the most. He also hung around with Hauser, Gilthunder and Griamore - this was usually done in what he thought was secretly, but was actually quite apparent to his older siblings and King Bartra.

It was during one of these excursions that he encountered a woman he quickly came to idolize. She lived on the edge of town, and the four entered her property as a dare. She coolly scared them off with an effortless show of magic, and it was love at first sight: Tobias, who had always been terrible with a sword, had found his calling in magic. It took many (truly) secret visits to her to convince her to teach him. He originally tried to keep his identity a secret, but the woman was more aware than his younger self believed.

Still, she had no qualms about teaching the youngest member of the royal family magic, as Tobias was an incredibly eager student. By the time that the Holy Knights staged a coup, Tobias had become quite skilled at the art - he just hid it from his family for fear of them not accepting his interest.

His secret trips out of the castle were what allowed him to escape while his family was trapped inside. Knowing that he'd be recognized in a heartbeat, especially close to the capable, he found an old suit of armor and put it on. No one questioned the Rust Knight as he left town, and it was only after he had been traveling for a short time that rumors began to spread that the Rust Knight was one of the Seven Deadly Sins - who, ironically enough, Tobias is searching for.

As he continues to grow more and more tired in his journey, he sees a cafe on the horizon called the Boar's Hat, and it's when he decides to enter it to get something to eat that our story begins...

Other: Tobias is skilled in two seemingly insignificant things: he's a great cook, and has an amazing singing voice. These two traits will make him quite invaluable once he starts staying with Runi at the Boar's Hat.
