Zelfyn Moryra

Return to The Ninth Dungeon

Creator: ScarlettFire
Roleplay: The Ninth Dungeon
Nickname: Zel

Name: Zelfyn "Zel" Moryra
Age: 29/30 (he may have lost a year somewhere, he's not sure)
Gender: Male

Race: fey'ri
Role | Guild Rank: Adventurer | Rank C (juuust shy of B rank)
Profession: Swordfighter (Bladesinger)

Appearance: Zel is a tall man with pale skin, shoulder-length dark red hair and tiny horns hidden in said hair. He's lithe but strong, build for swordfighting more than brawling. His ears slightly pointed and his eyes are so light a blue they're almost white, which sometimes unnerves people until the light hits his eyes and reflects blue. As a fey'ri, he looks more like an elf or half elf than his fiendish bloodline would suggest. He looks fairly androgynous with a softer facial structure than most men and a plethora of braids and trinkets woven into his hair. He wears mostly black in sturdy fabrics with leather armour over the top, black boots and a high-quality hooded cloak lined in deep red fur. Zel also carries a beautiful sword with a silk-wrapped black and deep blue hilt with silver accents. The sheath is a deep blue, almost black, in colour and he usually carries it attached to his belt along with several pouches and a waterskin. He also has a dagger hidden in his boot and several throwing knives hidden on his person, though you'd never know it.

Personality: Zel is a very serious and stoic man. He's a bit of a loner and not only by birth but also by choice. He doesn't trust easily or quickly. It'll take time for him to warm up to someone, but once he does--and they've proven they can be a loyal, trustworthy friend--he will protect them with his life. Sadly, he hasn't found anyone outside of a certain cousin in the capital who has gained that level of trustworthiness (and the rest of the family don't count). He's a strong fighter and he's fast--which he really doesn't seem to be when he prefers to stand back and let others exhaust themselves. He's also cunning and well-educated with a passion for poetry and (secretly) a soft heart. Zel also adores animals and children, and endlessly dotes on his horse (a pretty grey-speckled mare named "Banshee").
- Strengths: He's fast, cunning and well-educated. Strong magically and with his bladework. Adores animals and children. Reliable, mostly.
- Weaknesses: Slow to trust, naturally suspicious. Has a bit of a tendency to let others do the heavy-lifting before stepping in to help. Loner by birth and choice. Doesn't tend to like people, especially when they pry into his business. Do not ask him where he's from. He'll probably lie to you or let you come to your own conclusions.

Magic: Due to his fey'ri nature, Zel has some minor illusion magic to help him better blend in with others--fey'ri are not exactly tolerated outside of the Hungry Isles and often have a reputation as assassions (which is not unfounded)--and some major ice magic, though he doesn't use this often. He studies the School of the Blade, which is of a class of magic called bladesong and requires a student to be adept at both bladework and magic. Zel mostly pulls sneaky little tricks and illusions, though when he pulls out the Frostblade and ice magic, you know things are about to get Serious.

History: Zelfyn was born to a rather violent-trending family and grew up among them on Firen Isle in the Hungry Isles. He moved to Iriax Isle as a young boy and started training with his mentors and later working in the Tar Iriax dungeon while living in the attached city. He studied bladework from a young age with a master swordsman (a large tiefling man who maybe loves alcohol too much) and magic with a frigid witch (an elf specialising in ice magic) who travelled all the way from Jade Beach just to teach him. He's trained since childhood to be as good as he is, and has been travelling Zelkar for the last few years as an adventurer, swifting gaining ranks as he goes.

He's so, so close to gaining a rank and feels the new dungeon could be his chance to do so.

Up For Love: Yes, he doesn't care about gender.

Other: Zelfyn does not like to discuss his heritage, so he will usually go with whatever someone suggests, which is usually elf or half elf. If you mention fey'ri to him, he may freeze up, stop talking and walk away. His family are mainly asassins and criminals, so he was lucky he didn't get recruited into the family business, which was not what the case for his cousin--who is now, technically, retired from the assassin business. Zel has also been to several other dungeons; namely Tar Iriax, Tar Onis, Tar Odessa and Tar Adessa.

He has a grey-speckled horse named "Banshee". Don't let the name fool you; she's a sweetheart.

This was a gift from his bladesong master for completing his training.
