Vittoria Bonetti

Return to To Stop A Clock

Creator: avimoon
Roleplay: To Stop A Clock
Nickname: Vitt (by friends), V (by siblings)

Name: Vittoria Bonetti
Age: 24 years old
Gender/Pronouns: female, she/her
Callsign: Songbird
Origin: (time and place) 1999: Rome, Italy.
Appearance: Vittoria has olive skin and bushy yet kinky dark hair. Her eyes are sage green and almond shaped. She is lean and not very strong. She is 5”6’, and she likes wearing boots and sneakers. Her outfits tend to consist of clothing in line with wherever and whatever the crew happened to be that week, though she is fond of sweatpants, jeans, corsets, and button down shirts.
Personality: Vittoria is quick-witted and observant. She is slow to realize any romantic or friendly movements toward her, mistaking it as being polite or being Italian (kisses everywhere, making more food than necessary, etc). However, if it’s between other people, she gets it right away. Once she gets close to someone, she is funny, compassionate, and utterly loyal. She strives to learn (making her incredibly curious) and provide (whether that be safety, health, or money) for her family and those she cares about. She can get lost in thought, and considers that a weakness. She is overly cautious and considers this a strength. She has knives in both boots, two guns in her belt, and a switchblade (along with a disassembled gun) in her bra. Cross her once, shame on you. Cross her twice, you’re dead. She is vengeful, protective, and can go from warm and kind to cold and detached in the blink of an eye. She does not like being taken advantage of. And yes, you should consider that a warning.
Basic Backstory: Vittoria was born in Rome, Italy in 1999 to an archaeologist father and a historian mother. Naturally, she became invested in history and knowledge, fascinated by her parents’ areas of study. When she was two years old, her parents had triplets; a boy named Valentino, another boy named Lorenzo, and a girl named Sylvia. Vittoria loved her little siblings more than life itself, and Vitt and the triplets went everywhere and did everything together. All of the little Bonetti buggers were fascinated by their mother’s office and their father’s digs. They alternated between sneaking in to read their Mamma’s old scripts and dusty books and sneaking out to play in the dust, clay, and sand of their Pa’s archaeological digs. Lorenzo fancied himself to be Indiana Jones, and the four Bonetti kids indulged him in their own ways. (Sylvia tended to huff and flip her golden blonde hair in his face before grinning and getting herself covered in clay while Valentino was privy to rolling his eyes and muttering about the inaccuracy of the movies but getting his black hair (so similar to Vittoria’s) encrusted with sand nonetheless. Vittoria (ever the older sister) preferred ruffling Lorenzo’s brown hair (a trait from their Mamma’s British side) and whispering new facts into his ear.) The Bonetti siblings were everything to each other. And then Valentino got sick. Fifteen years old and diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Vittoria researched everything– every culture’s medicine, every history of cures and ailments. She stumbled upon ancient runes that she realized looked a lot like a few of those little English letters her Mamma hired an Italian-American linguistics professor to teach the Bonetti kids when they were young. She switched around the letters, experimenting with every language in hopes that she’d uncover what it meant. This is how she discovered the Archive. She contacted the Archive about her brother and received a bargain. If she studied all history that the Archive had on file and then went on a mission for the Archive, then they would give her what was needed to fix what happened to her loved one. It was a no-brainer. Valentino was healed, and all was well… for a year. A year after Vittoria’s first mission, Sylvia was hit by a touring bus and thrown into a coma. Vittoria contacted the Archive again, and was met with the same bargain. This time, they allowed her to go back in time and keep Sylvia from going out that night for her shift at the nearby coffee shop, effectively stopping the bus from hitting her. All was well… for a month. A month after Vittoria’s second mission, Lorenzo was shot by a drunkard while trying to protect Sylvia. The drunkard had shot Lorenzo, and the sweet Bonetti boy who wanted to be Indiana Jones grabbed the gun and shot the drunkard with his last breaths to ensure Sylvia would survive. Vittoria sent a message to the Archive with shaking hands and mascara running down her face. The bargain was the same. Vittoria took it and went back in time to keep her siblings inside. All was well… for a week. A week after Vittoria’s third mission, her Pa fell at one of his sites and hit his head, concussed so hard that he remembered nothing. Vittoria contacted the Archive, and the bargain was the same. Vittoria went on the mission, and then went back in time to ensure her father retired before he took the spill, slipping him a drug that the archive gave her to keep him from harm. (That drug was only earned because Vittoria had made the mission run as smooth as silk.) All was well… for a day. A day after Vittoria’s fourth mission, her Mamma had a stroke and died. Vittoria sent the message and took the mission mindlessly. The Archive gave her the same drug they’d let her give her father, and Vittoria’s Mamma was safe. All was well… for an hour. Valentino, Lorenzo, and Sylvia were downed in a plane crash and presumed dead. Vittoria contacted te Archive and said she would do three more missions for them, each in return for that life lasting drug rejecting harm they’d given her for her fourth and fifth missions. They accepted her terms. She completed the missions, went back in time before her siblings got on the plane, gave them the drugs while they slept, and told them in the morning that she’d gotten tickets to a concert in Greece, only a boat ride away. No plane needed. Vittoria then contacted the Archive, saying she’d go on a mission for just one more of that drug. They said that they didn’t have any more. That night, she had a nightmare that the only thing she could do to always keep her family safe was helping the Archive. Driven by fear, she contacted the Archive once more asking for a permanent position and after a lifetime of missions, they would have to let her retire to live a healthy, safe, good life with her family. They accepted.
File Sample: Songbird knows Italian and English, and is fluent in every written language. She once put herself in a time loop to learn all of them. Songbird is known to call many people dolcezza/dolce or doll.
Other: She was taught British English for speech, but American English for writing. She is called Songbird because whenever she comes across someone of another time seeming on edge, she hums or sings a song that was well-liked by their type of people in their time. She loves all food, and is constantly seen with a bag of crisps (usually Lays) or a can of Pringles. She constantly gives her team Jolly Ranchers (like that one fun social studies teacher everyone had), and if they don’t like Jolly Ranchers, she finds another candy that they do like, and gives them that. It is well known in the Foxtrot Six that if you want food, you go to Vittoria. She is also a pretty swell cook and constantly makes her Italian recipes. She jokes that her family has plot armor (and the thing is that it’s not a joke at all). She is the therapist friend that needs a therapist. Only her friends call her Vitt, some people try to call her Tori, and only her siblings call her V.
