Leiko Kohana

Return to Us Among the Gods

Creator: winterwolf0100
Roleplay: Us Among the Gods
Nickname: Leiko, Lei

Name: Leiko Kohana
Pronouns: He/him
Sexuality: Gay (type: oblivious)
Age: 23

Career: Proud owner and operator of an ice cream truck. :] He also does the messenger thing as a side gig (like how people do DoorDash on the side)
Employer: Technically the God Kings, but he just goes wherever anyone tells him to. Lately, this has been Prince Cos. If you ask him who he is employed by though, he will proudly tell you HIMSELF!! He loves his ice cream truck.

Appearance: Brown skin, long dark brown, curly hair. He stands at 5'10" and is fairly lean with muscles that are kind of there. He works out but he also just has a really good diet, despite his love of ice cream. His eyes are a warm brown that pops when he's super excited. He generally keeps his hair down, where it falls past his shoulders, but he also pulls it into a low ponytail if he needs it away from his face. It has a lot of volume. When he's working in his ice cream truck he has brightly colored shirts with fun stripey colors and an apron that has his ice cream truck name on it. He is very proud of it. Since his job as a messenger doesn't generally require him to wear something else, and he does it while moving his ice cream places, he generally ends up wearing his ice cream apron to his jobs-- except for the ones for Prince Cos. He heard about Prince Cos' whole color scheme thing and was a bit intimidated, so he kept an extra shirt in his truck to throw on over his stripey one when he was delivering messages for him.

Personality: He is very much a ray of sunshine. He's speedy and a bit disorganized. He definitely has ADHD, but it lends itself to his creativity. Because he speeds around in his ice cream truck to do his delivery job, the gods have absolutely no idea how he is able to do the messenger job so quickly, but he is, again, very speedy. The only thing he is possibly organized with is his job and running his ice cream truck. Somehow, he has managed not to forget to renew any licenses or restock-- but he has gotten very very close. Much too close for comfort. He's also got very sensitive feelings and isn't really confident in sticking up for himself or others, though he wishes he was.
Strengths: He's extremely creative and optimistic. He tries to look on the bright side of things and is a great empathizer and listener, even if he isn't exactly good at offering advice.
Weaknesses: He has ADHD which can have advantages, but for him, it usually leads to a lot of disorganization and trouble keeping track of certain things. It's a wonder he hasn't forgotten to send a message before. He's got pretty sensitive emotions, but on top of that, Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria from ADHD can make him feel like he's being rejected a lot even if he isn't, so it can be hard for him. He's also not great at remembering to respond to messages of his own (oh the irony), so he isn't super great at making friends and keeping them. He's also not formally trained in any physical combat.

Brief History: Leiko grew up with his mom in Hawai'i-- he's Hawai'i maoli-- until the age of ten. She juggled a lot of jobs, and ended up sending him to New York when he was ten, where his older sister was in school and living with his aunt. His mom's job took her all over the place, so she visited as often as she could. Leiko tried to make the most of everything and never make anything harder on her, and really, he did like his childhood. He wished he could've seen her more but he didn't struggle with many mental health issues besides some anxiety, and by the time he graduated high school, his older sister had already graduated and gone on to law school. His aunt encouraged him to pursue something he was genuinely excited about, and his mind instantly brought up a drawing he'd done at a very young age of an ice cream truck. With his aunt, sister, and mom behind him, he took out a loan to get his ice cream truck and started his business. He realized quickly that if he wanted to get the debt off his shoulders so he could live a happy ice-cream-filled life, he might need another job. He wasn't sure what other job could fit his bizarre schedule though-- and that's when his sister had a brilliant idea. He was always traveling everywhere anyway in his truck, or at least all over New York. Why not be a messenger? He was nineteen when he applied for the job and has done it happily ever since.

When he was twenty-one, he got sent to deliver a message for Prince Cos, and he ended up just getting called back again and again because he is, once again, very speedy.

Other: He loves Lei's 'Licious Cones with all his heart and might die if someone criticizes it. Or break down crying. Likely both.
