Godly Parent: The Greek goddess Melinoe, goddess of ghosts.

Personality She is quick-tempered and angers easily. The voices of ghosts that fill her head 24/7 drive her crazy because she cannot control which ghosts are talking to her. If she is in a place where someone important died, she’ll likely hear that person in her head. She is cold and responds out loud to the voices, which may give other people the appearance that she’s crazy. She’s a loner unless you count the ghosts.

Powers: While children of Hades can sense death and occasionally summon skeletons or a soul, Melinoe is accompanied 24/7 by the ghosts that surround her. Farono hears the ghosts as voices in her head most of the time, but with enough power, she can temporarily grant them a physical form. She isn’t fully in control of it though, so if a ghost is powerful enough, they can manipulate her energy in order to gain a physical form temporarily. She can also see in the dark, said to be because the ghosts that accompany her light the way. If she is overwhelmed by enough ghosts, the power could make her eyes glow a little, providing light for others. (head lights)

Appearance: She has very pale skin, and is tall and skinny. She has naturally black hair. In honor of her mother, she dyed the right half of her hair a stark white, and keeps her hair short, the sides buzz cut. Her eyes are a dark brown. She doesn’t look like she’d be a good fighter, having nearly no muscle mass, but she can more than make up for it with ghosts and a crossbow.

Short History: Her father was actually dead when she was conceived because he was one of the ghosts who served Melinoe. Because he was a soldier in the Trojan War, he died, but because he died in a medic tent instead of on the field, he was not granted Elysium. He was bitter and rage-filled, and agreed to follow Melinoe, along with several other ghosts, and fight her battles when she chose to give him a physical form. During one of those times, Farono was conceived. Melinoe does not believe in fighting her children’s battles, so Melinoe was abandoned as an infant to an orphanage and the foster care system, though her father’s ghost frequently spoke to her. She was given the name Dalia, meaning lucky. She was constantly passed from family to family because of rage and temper issues, and for a year was nearly completely incapacitated because she was put on schizophrenia medication when she told a family about the voices of ghosts she heard. Before it had been dismissed as childhood friends but by the age of eleven the family worried and went to the doctor for the medicine. It made it hard for her to think straight, and she often had trouble telling what was real and what wasn’t.

She stopped taking the meds after a year and ran away from the family, living on her own until she was attacked by monsters at the age of 14. She fought them off, and in return, her mother sent out a trail of ghosts to lead her to a house of college-age kids who were also demigods. They took her in and helped her find her footing. She took on the name Farono--taken from the Greek word for orphan, but rearranged because she'd found her way again.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strength-- She is great with a crossbow and she often carries extra weapons with her so she can give a ghost temporary form and allow them to fight as well.
Weaknesses-- She lets her anger take control of her and often attacks before asking questions. She is untrustful, so getting her to realize she has been lied to is near impossible. While the ghosts give her advice constantly, oftentimes it is contradictory and confusing. A Roman ghost tells her to attack full on while a Greek ghost tells her to use a diversion. Demigods who died on both sides of both wars constantly whisper in her ears, asking for favors or to visit people one last time. She is often exhausted and angry at the voices, leaving little time for alive friends.

Up For Love?: She's a full on mess and she's currently crushing on someone else, but it's not off the table for the future.

Other: Farono has had a crush on one particular ghost, an ancient Greek handmaiden, since she first appeared when Farono was thirteen. Alita is quiet and shy, and she’s the one Farono turns to for advice. Alita looks to be around twenty-two. Also, she isn’t easily scared or intimidated, which means if she’s following the rules, it’s because they benefit her, not because she respects said rules.
