Luminara

Return to The Headquarters

Creator: Leya
Roleplay: The Headquarters
Nickname: Luminara

Sit down. I'm Commander Furia, head of HQ. If you get this job, you'll take orders from me. Understood?

Your Response: Oooh. Furia. What an Awesome Name. Understood!

Hmm. Closer to the microphone. State your name for the record.

Your Name: *Scoots closer awkwardly* Erm... Juliet Sterling?

Okay. First mistake of this job. We don't use our actual names here. Give me an alias.

Your Alias: Luminara! You get it, because... never mind. You'll see soon enough. It's a cool party trick, to say the least.

Really? That's the best you can come up with? No, no, we're moving forward. What makes you qualified for this job?

Your Abilities: I glow in the dark. Literally. That, and I can become invisible for short amounts of time, though I don't like doing that. It scares me sometimes, because what if it malfunctions and I can't come back, y'know? Luminescence is much cooler.
Strengths: I did years of gymnastics and yoga, so I'm pretty flexible and my agility is up there. I like to call myself an acrobat. My friends like to say I'm pretty smart, too, but I don't see it. Maybe I am? Who knows at this point.
Weaknesses: I might be scared of the dark. Just a tad. I'm also not strong at all and my pain tolerance is not great. I think if someone flicked me I'd cry in pain. Not sure if I should've said that. Oops. Can I take that back?

Hmm. Okay, so what are you planning on wearing to the battlefield? Nothing ridiculous. I'm not going to waste my resources on a flashy suit just for you to die on the first mission.

Your Appearance: I wear a green, spandex, rubber, full-body suit. Helps me stay unnoticed and I can easily move in it. Pretty practical, if you ask me. It also has little veins in it that glow green. It's cool.

We'll smooth out the details later. Good enough. Now to the nitty gritty. I need to know that you'll be compatible with the other members. I also need to know that you know yourself enough to reveal all aspects of your personality, even the not so good.

Your Personality: Well, my mom says that I'm kind. I can get awkward in some situations, but I try my best to stay cool. When I get nervous I tend to glow even if I don't want it. It kinda sucks. I like people. Being around people, specifically. Being alone kind of freaks me out, especially now in this day and age. I can get serious when It's needed, especially if I have an idea. I'm usually one step ahead when it comes to ideas. Ideas are cool little things.
Strengths: I'm adaptable and I have pretty quick thinking. I tend to come up with... creative solutions on the fly. Reading people is my forte, too.
Weaknesses: I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which can sometimes make me overly crtitical of myself. Some people also say I talk to much, but I'm not sure if that'd be a strength or a weakness? Oh well.

We'll learn soon enough if what you said is the truth. Now. Tell me about your past. This is vital information, so try not to leave out details. Anything incriminating especially. I need to know if I have to do more paperwork to get you hired.

Your Age: Uhhh... I'm 23. Is that too young? I hope not.
Your Gender & Pronouns: Female, she/her!
Your History: I didn't really do much during the war. I was studying most of the time. Yeah, the war, that one with the Sprinter Virus that messed up everything. My parents were engineers, and they were really into the whole 'save the world' thing during it. They worked super hard to fight the virus and stuff. They always told me stories about it, and I was like "Wow, that's intense."

When I was thirteen, I found out I could glow in the dark. Yep, I'm like a human nightlight. It was... weird, to say the least. And then there's the invisibility thing. It's cool, but also freaky. Once, I accidently hurt my friend when my glow went haywire. She's okay now, but it really scared me, you know?

My parents were super supportive, though. They told me to find an escape, so I opted for gymnastics and yoga to help me get a handle on it all. So, I got good at bendy, flippy things.

I went to college for biophysics because, well, I thought it might help myself to get better at my powers.

Personal Secret: Um... here's something I haven't told anyone. During the Mecha War, my parents were involved in a classified project related to the Splinter Virus. They never talked about it that much, but I found some old files a while ago. I think they were trying to find a cure or something. I've been digging into it quietly, trying to understand what was really going on, but I don't know. It was very cryptic.
Personal Wish: Hm.. That's a good question. I guess my wish would be to uncover the truth about the Splinter Virus and make sure nothing like...that happens again. It's a big wish, but I'm determined!

I really did not need to know your hopes and aspirations, but thank you for that knowledge. Before we leave, do you have any questions for us?

Other: Nope. Sounds good! When do I start? I can't wait!

There was nothing he enjoyed more than a good book. He'd wander into the study, take down some leather-bound volume, and eat it.
