Appearance: Sandra is of Indian descent, so she has brown skin with warm undertones. She stands at a stout 5'6, and has gained a healthy amount of weight over her life. Her hair has greyed, and she keeps it in a tight bun. She needs glasses, and usually wears rectangle frames. Her face is round, full of life and wisdom.
Personality: Sandra is stern but kind. She is kind of passive aggressive, but mostly because, in a lot of her life, her views had been overlooked by men in the room, whether it was her husband, her family, her coworkers, or just random people from the internet who thought they knew more on the subject than she did. It has not made her doubt herself, but has made her a bit backhanded with her communication. If she feels like you are not listening, she will then just mutter her thoughts. It may sound like she's talking to herself, but in reality she's being paassive aggresive. Although, funnily enough, Sandra does talk to herself often as a way of thinking.

Are you an Onlooker? No, I'm a scientist who worked on studying The Last Light when it first arrived. I'm familiar with electromagnetism and have been studying certain aspects of its absence since The Last Light.

Profession before The Last Light: I was a professor.

History before The Last Light: Sandra was born in India before moving to Canda with her parents at the age of nine. At the age of 15, she was arranged to be married to an older man, Mohinder. Although they did not get along for the first years of their marriage due to miscarriages. Once they had agreed to wait before trying for a child again did their relationship heal. During those years, Sandra took to following her passion; mathmatics. After a decade in college, Sandra and Mohinder tried for kids once more, to no success. They both kind of settled into their lives and rhythms, with a chasm in between their relationship. Regretfully, but ironically thankfully, Mohinder passed from a harsh cancer before The Last Light started. Also thankfully for Sandra, she had no connections to worry about when The Last Light hit.
History after The Last Light: The first few months of The Last Light were chaotic, and, ten years later, it's hard for Sandra to recall them. It was probably around halfway through the first year that Sandra learned of New Vale, an establishment next to one of Canada's rivers. There, she took some of the students she was living with to the establishment, and helped build New Vale into what it is now. For about a year or two, Sandra was on the council that made the important and often difficult decisions for New Vale before she had a large health complication, where she fractured her hip. After that, Sandra quietly removed herself from the council and stopped leaving New Vale on expeditions. She quickly learned hydroponics and have been working on that since. Although, she has been trying to make a radio work for as long as possible, that work wasn't productive for New Vale, so it was more of a hobby for her.
Reason for volunteering: Nothing has worked since the Last Light. The very fact that an electronic device has started working, even if just one singular device, is pecular enough to pique her interest. But, she's one of the only people with academic knowledge of electromagnetism. For her brain, she is going on the mission. She was invaluable in keeping people alive through the first years of New Vale, but the importance of this mission is too high for her to be careful with her life now.

Other: Because of her injury to her hip, it will make the journey even more difficult than normal.
