Rous

Return to A Lost Tomb

Creator: Europa
Roleplay: A Lost Tomb
Nickname: Rous

Name: Rous

Age: 204 Full moons (17 years old).
Gender: Male.
Race: Aarakrocra (Bird Folk put simply).

Role: The Traitor.

Appearance: Rous is an anthropomorphic peregrine falcon. He is small and mostly gray with a light orange underbelly. He wears little armor so as not to limit him in the air, in fact, clothes are still a very new concept to him. (Birds don't have much to cover and clothes aren't very aerodynamic.) As of now, he's wearing a sky blue tunic with the sleeves torn off, and a pair of trousers. He goes barefoot still, his wicked taloned feet would shred any pair of shoes to pieces anyway.
He walks with an odd, slightly adorable hop like he's unused to getting around on his own two feet.

Personality: This all depends on whether your with or against him. Rous comes from a warrior race, one that prides itself on honor and total domination. To his friends, he is soft-spoken and kindhearted. He is wise beyond his years, although he doesn't realize it. He gets nervous whenever he gives someone advice, however sensible, and prefers to stay in the background and take orders, although he's trying to correct this habit. He enjoys storytelling, it's the one time outside of battle where he's completely without inhibition. He's honest, mostly because it never occurs to him until too late to tell a lie, and is at the very least okay with admitting he doesn't understand something having to do with life on the ground. However good-natured he is, everything changes when he's fighting. Rous, like most bird folk, value their honor over their own life. He will not hesitate to challenge someone who threatens it and has a one-track mind when it comes to defeating his enemies. He is not afraid to rip a person to shreds if necessary.
- Strengths: Very skilled in combat, extremely fast in the air and quick thinking.
- Weaknesses: driven by revenge, unaccustomed to life on the ground, quick temper.

Magic: There is magic where he comes from, but Rous's understanding of it is very basic. If he encounters a problem, he just shreds it with his talons. If it rises again he shreds it again and repeats as needed.

History: Rous was the third heir to the throne of his mountain kingdom, and as such understood he would never rule as king. He was fine with this, his two elder brothers were fine leaders, and he was content with becoming a soldier. Over the years he climbed to the rank of captain and was expected to soon lead his own unit, but fate had other ideas. Rok, the king's ambitious advisor, lusted after the throne and killed his father and brothers to claim it. When Rous found their bodies, he furiously attacked, but the cheating bird was ready and had two of his own guards arrest him for treason. Rous was framed for the murders and slated for execution, but the band of soldiers he had grown close to weren't fooled and helped him escape to the world beyond their kingdom, promising they'd stand with him when he returned to once again challenge Rok. Rous now roams the unfamiliar land beyond his home, searching for a power strong enough to topple Rok and his army from power.

Up For Love: We'll see how it goes.

Other: Rous doesn't fight with traditional weapons, but with bladed gauntlets, he straps to his taloned feet. He is more used to aerial combat but isn't opposed to learning other forms of fighting. He also one hundred percent doesn't understand anything about ground culture. He's fluent in the common language, but simple concepts like beds, cooking, and clothes are completely novel to him. He prefers to do most things his own way unless they're going to cause a huge upset. (Like waking around town in nothing but your feathers.)

What orators lack in depth they make up for in length.
