Mallon / Malik

Return to On Stolen Wings

Creator: winterwolf0100
Roleplay: On Stolen Wings
Nickname: Mal

Name: Mallon (Because he doesn't know his parents or his heritage, he has no last name. Mallon was given to him by the Council as a soft-sounding name, and when he was taken by the Conclave, they changed it to Malik. His dragon still calls him Mallon, and he uses Mallon as a fake identity when on missions.)

Age: 21.

Gender: Male

Race: Half human, half fiend (however, he doesn't know his true parentage until he is recruited by the Conclave.)

Profession: Dragon rider, for the Conclave.

Bonded Dragon: Stella, 13 (she hatched and they bonded when he was eight). She is very sassy and smart. She enjoys messing around with him and getting on his nerves, and often her playfulness shines through as a particular ruthlessness on the battlefield, where she will drag out the deaths of her enemies. While she was bright and playful, the darkness changed her into that ruthlessness that is now a common sign of her anger.

Appearance: Dark black hair that can be slicked up, but usually hangs down. It is not a buzz cut, but isn't necessarily long either. The only sign of his heritage is his eyes, one being a stark pale blue while the other is a deep green. When he was little, the Council bound and hid his green eye with magic in hopes of hiding his dark heritage. They believed by doing this, they could save him from the darker side of himself. Picture attached!

Personality: He is not talkative, and becomes angered quickly. His bond with his dragon is strong, but because they have both been turned bad, they feed each others' rage. The only person/creature he cares about is his dragon (or so he would have people believe; somehow, he does manage to get attached to people, although he hides it), and he will not hesitate to kill whoever stands in the way of her safety. He serves the Conclave blindly, and was raised to believe the Council was a group of liars who fought to keep everyone else down.

History: Shortly after his bonding ceremony, he was stolen from the Council to be trained by the Conclave. (He was probably smuggled out by a spy.) Because he was an orphan with some magical abilities, the Council took him in and trained him to fight along with a group of 30 or so other children in hopes that he might one day bond with a dragon. Because he bonded and was smuggled out around the age of 8, his former classmates, some probably dragon riders, might recognize him. However, while in his childhood he was a goofy boy who could hardly sit still, the Conclave transformed him into a more brooding character. His classmates might also be surprised to see his heterochromia eyes, which were covered up by the Council. In fact, he didn’t know about his eyes until the Conclave magically removed the binding the Council had put on him. Before that, he didn’t believe the Conclave about the truth of his heritage. Once his dragon, Stella, was turned dark through dark magics, she slowly started affecting him the longer he was kept and trained by the Conclave. His main point of anger against the Council is the fact that they never told him his true dark heritage (which also affected how easily he was swayed to 'the dark side', if you will.) Because of this, the Conclave had an easy time convincing him the Council told nothing but lies, and since he was already trained in fighting skills, they added on, until he was a nearly unstoppable force. He is now one of their most secret weapons, rarely seen, but deadly. The Conclave, while evil, saw his potential and spent extra time making sure he trusted them. They convinced him to show off his eyes proudly instead of covering them up as the Council had done, often encouraging him to be more bold and daring.

Up For Love: While he is bisexual with a preference for men, he has no interest in being with anyone, and it is unlikely that this will change throughout the course of the story. While he may use his looks to his advantage when on undercover missions, he has no intention of ever taking the effort to be in a relationship. In his mind, that would further distract him from his one sole mission, to take the Council down and stop them from telling anyone else more 'lies' in the future. In his own mind, he is saving the future kids of the realm from ending up as he is.

Other: His personal mission is to make sure no other children have secrets hidden from them as he believes the Council hid his heritage from him. He believes he can accomplish this by helping to stop and wipe out the Council. Before the Conclave, he didn't know he was half fiend, the only sign being his eyes, which the Council has previously covered up. When they took him in, he was shown his heritage wasn't something to be ashamed about but something to be embraced, which increased his trust and love for them.
