Species: Tottan is Y'arkan; an obscure race from the small red planet of Lucia. The only thing Lucia is know for is being the home planet of the popular Hukka plant - which, essentially, are chocolate flowers. Y'arkan are tall and slender, with smooth luminous skin (that comes in many colors) and eyes that light up when they feel strong emotion. They all have characteristically flat noses, large feet, two pairs of arms, long pointed ears, and two horns on the crown of their heads. They're also known for having small, opaque markings on their face that mirror on either side.

Y'arkans are unique in that they live for hundreds of (human) years, often into their 1000's when they live a healthy fulfilled life. As a race they often spend the first 200-300 years becoming a master of one particular skill, and once they have reached the limits of their knowledge, they leave Lucia to seek out new ways of learning and furthering their craft. Lucia's government, politics, and economical structure most closely resembles that of a modified theory of socialism.

Tottan is a particularly slender fellow, but has broader shoulders than the typical Y'arkan. He stands at 22 dekfeebs (8' 11"), and wears slim fitting bodysuits that modestly cover everything but his head and his hands, as is traditional in Y'arkan culture. He has two small stubby horns, and short, black hair. His skin illuminates a soft pale pink color and his eyes, when alight, look like they're little galaxies of their own.

Profession: Medic. Proficient in multitasking and attending to multiple patients in an efficient amount of time. Extensive knowledge of complicated medical procedures and the anatomy of hundreds of races. Excels in high intensity situations and is exceptional at improvising with little resources.

Personality: Always smiling, always calm. Gentle and kind. He strives to maintain a certain level of professionalism in all of his relations, and can sometimes come off as aloof and insincere. He enjoys listening more than he does talking, but still loves conversation. He's very intentional with his words and asks good questions.

When faced with a problem that he cannot fix, he will not rest until he finds a solution. This stubborn determination to succeed has gotten him this far, but also causes him to lose sight of the bigger picture.

History: Tottan grew up on a Hukka farm with five siblings, and a pet fia (similar to a bunny).

As a Y'arkan, Tottan has advanced regenerative abilities, but grew up knowing that other races were disadvantaged in their ability to recover quickly from wounds, sickness, and disease. In the interest of seeking out ways to accelerate healing for other races, Tottan had been developing cutting-edge research on the planet Titan, specializing in gene splicing unto modern medicine that would change the medicinal world as he knew it. He had made considerable successful progress in his experiments when he was contacted to join the crew.

Daily schedule: Every day starts with a hearty meal (he eats a lot, for being so tall!) Then he goes through his usual routine of workouts to keep his body limber and active, largely cardio and stretches for flexibility. After a thorough wash, and grooming of his hair, he spends his mornings in his lab/office and works: doing routine check ups on others in the crew, making medicine, etc.

He needs at least an hour of sunlight or artificial light every 24hrs or his skin slowly loses its luminescence, which has negative psychological affects (it can result in depression or extreme dissociation). He typically gets this during his lunch break.

In the afternoons he goes out with the colonization team as a precautionary measure. His nights end with logging his research and patient files, and listening to an "radio"-show before bed (but he will never tell anyone that he likes to watch children's stories to wind down).
