Jake Lindstrom

Return to Starlight

Creator: Elinor
Roleplay: Starlight
Nickname: Jake

Name Jacob Adam Lindstrom
Age: 27
Appearance: Jake looks about ten years younger than he is. Because of this, as his boyish, all-American look, he is often the subject of condescending remarks from his superiors.
Personality: Jake is a man of a strong, almost too black and white for his own good moral code. He wants desperately to make the world a better place. Rejection only makes him more determined to achieve his goals. While he means well, his intensity makes him at times socially awkward and hard to be around, which is part of the reason why he doesn't have much experience with women.
Background: Jake was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota to a lower middle class family. He was the youngest of four children. The only boy, he always fiercely admired his sisters, and they were always protective of him. The family was a happy one. They always had enough to get by, but not enough for anything more.

It was a combination of things rather than a single incident that led a strong sense of justice to be instilled him from an early age, and he dreamed of helping people in whatever way he could. He also tired of the long and cold winters, and longed to move somewhere warm. Los Angeles appealed to him because he loved going to the movies. By the time he was eighteen he'd saved enough money to move, working odd jobs for two years. At the age of 20 he joined the force, proving himself to be a more than capable cop. At 26, he was promoted to a detective. He was partnered with 62 year old Charlie Hopper, a forty year veteran of the force. They have a tenuous partnership, but one of mutual respect. Even as skilled detective, no one takes him seriously because of his youth, his superiors telling him he gets too emotionally involved in his cases.

Assigned to the Karen Richardson case, for Hopper, it's just another case, but for Jake, it soon becomes a personal obsession.
Up for Love/Sexuality: Yes/Straight
Other: He has a crush on Ann.
