Race: Human

Theme: Dark green, white, umber, and light grey.

Appearance: Valerian is slightly taller than average and slightly below what you'd expect a Huntsman-in-training to weigh, but he carries himself with confidence and rarely slouches. His skin is fair, his hair white, and his eyes moss green with grey flecks - at least until he suffered an injury to his right eye, after which the iris turned brown. Nevertheless, he often flashes cheerful smiles at people, and his eyes remain kind and friendly even when his expression is neutral, though the heterochromia can sometimes unnerve others. He usually wears umber boots, dark green pants, a white, long-sleeved undershirt, a dark green, short-sleeved shirt, and a dark green cloak with light grey trim. His sword is strapped to the right of his umber belt when not in uniform, while a hip-pack can be attached to a clip on the belt's left when needed. Otherwise, he'd casually sling a backpack over his shoulders.

Weapon: An idealist at heart, Valerian seeks to share his positivity with the world and so named his broadsword Panacea. The light grey blade tapers in three different places, creating four sections; moving towards the tip, they are shaped like a diamond, a kite, a shield, and another diamond. The crossguard is W-shaped, with the wings facing away from the dark green hilt. The pommel is square and the shaft, large enough to accommodate both hands, has rings for extra grip. On the crossguard is a dark green button with his emblem on and a grey dial around it. The dial selects one of six vials of Dust, three located in each wing of the crossguard, which are activated when the button is pushed. On the hilt's ventral side is another button without a dial, which ejects the Dust chambers to the wings' sides. The Dust varieties he uses are specifically Burn (red), Freeze (blue), Gale (white), Gravity (black), Shield (cyan), and Volcano (orange) Dust.

Semblance: Whenever his father did work around the house, Valerian was always eager to help. During one particularly windy autumn, they were working on repairing the roof when a powerful gust made Valerian lose his balance and fall off. As he fell, he tumbled forward, hitting his right eye on the edge of the roof. After having him examined, they thought his injury was minor, but the trauma caused blood to pool, leading to iron deposition in the back of his eye, which in turn eventually lead to his heterochromia. Rather than let his life be scarred by the accident, Valerian resolved never to be that unprepared again and to use his injury as a positive reminder to stay vigilant. His semblance is to summon gusts of wind - they can be utilised to grant him momentum or to stagger opponents or Grimm. He can also imbue these gusts with the properties of whichever Dust is currently selected in Panacea, allowing him to be prepared for a variety of scenarios. Most frequently, he'd use Gale Dust to increase the intensity of his gusts, and to spectacular effect, while he largely neglects the Volcano Dust. The others he uses to varying degrees.

Personality: An integral part of Valerian's personality is his positive outlook. Though he doesn't pretend life isn't full of obstacles and hardships, he feels being optimistic in spite of them makes life more enjoyable and gives hope to the weary. Yet being cheerful all the time can take its toll, which is why he's introverted and has to retreat into solitude to regain spent energy. And as one can imagine, he expends much of his energy on behalf of others, often without receiving any thanks in return. Besides depleting himself, Valerian would willingly let another take advantage of him if he thought it would improve them in the long run. His greatest flaw is therefore the inability to say "no".

History: Valerian is the only child of Artemis and Chamomile Timberwolf. He was born in Vale and lived there for the first few years of his childhood. His mother's small accounting business struggled to support the household, so his father, a huntsman from Mistral, spent most of his time away, completing contracts. Chamomile therefore did most of the parenting, but she didn't want to be the cause of her son growing up without a father. When Mountain Glenn was founded, they moved there in order to capitalise on the plentiful opportunities. His mother's business now thriving, his father was free to spend more time at home with them. Artemis frequently regaled Valerian with stories of dangerous missions and the adventures of his youth, so it came as no surprise that Valerian wanted to attend Signal - a decision bolstered by his desire to help others. His parents approved, and with their encouragement, as well as his father's guidance, he graduated second in his class. Finally, he could attend a true Huntsman Academy and forge his own path ahead.

Up for love: Sure!

Other: Expending energy for the benefit of others is something Valerian can do quite literally. His demeanour, coupled with his knowledge of aura, allowed him to develop the ability to dispel negativity in people, objects or places by casting his aura over them, though channelling it through them via touch is more efficient. The more negativity he tries to dispel, the more exhausting or less effective the action becomes, which is particularly apparent when doing so for locations. This ability only works for emotions or thoughts, however, as he can do nothing to relieve physical pain.
