Young goblin Gurgle attempts to keep her friend and protector Carden alive by pretending to be a goblin princess and attending Madame Rika's School for Young Ladies to steal a magical artifact. She faces abuse, both violent and verbal from the humans around her who see her as little more than an ugly rat creature, and has come to see herself as unworthy of real love. But as she begins to flourish at the school she learns what it means to be a real lady--to genuinely give love and receive love in return.
