“Looks like one of the most expensive items on the menu.” Xe snorted. “We should order a bucket next time.”

Alex grabs a caramel milkshake they had been eyeing. “Isn’t that stuff fish eggs or something?”

“I wonder if there’ll be a point where they come and tell us to stop.” Alex hesitantly tapped the burnt sugar layer of a crème brûlée.

Alex laughed. “Never have I ever found myself wanting a walk in fridge.”

“This is more food than I’ve had in the last week.” Alex swallows harshly and took a sip of one of the drinks. “And I am loving it.”

Alex grinned, a little mischievous glimmer in xer eyes. “Oh absolutely.” They grabbed a plate and started eating.

Alex laughed along with her, watching the servers work. "Thank you so much, everyone."

Alex woke up, blinking their eyes rapidly. "Is that room service?"

Alex soon drifted into a comfortable sleep on the couch, a gentle smile on their face.

Alex left the bathroom quietly, catching a glimpse of Sadie. Smiling to the themself, they settled on the couch. Xe was glad Sadie was able to sleep comfortably.

Alex wasn’t used to feeling warm water across their skin, to watch the dirt rinse off without filling xer bones with the deepest of colds. This entire situation was odd ...

Alex nodded. “I’ll take you up on that offer. It sounds nice.” They grabbed their clothes and disappeared into the bathroom.

“Honestly, you deserve it. I haven’t had hot water in…” Alex pondered, counting on their fingers “…yeah I have no idea.”

Alex smiled up at her, taking a place by one of the windows. “How do you feel?”
