Neptune stiffened. That wasn't exactly a mighty war cry of the British army, but any voice could signal that Neptune and Rain were doomed.

Off in the distance, a twig snapped, the sound so loud it might as well have been a gunshot.

Vendetta nodded. "I can see the headlines now: Malacoda's dark assistants finally captured for their crimes! Joe will be so happy."

Neptune nodded. "Yep."

Vendetta blushed. "Oh, dear." They giggled. "Uhh, maybe you're with us. Just act defeated and stuff."

Neptune hummed. "Thank you." They ducked, squeezing beside Rain.
