Lis (Recruited) She looks up at him, taken off guard. "I-I told you. My father dragged my brother and I into something. It didn't end well..."

He chuckles and falls back, smiling at her. "I'm fine, Ray. It's alright."

He smiles, closing his eyes as she does, and chuckles. "Ray, I'm good. Just got a headache."

He flashes a smile, her face coming into focus, and swallows. "Yeah, babe, I'm good."

He nods, sending his head spinning, and blinks a few times. "Whoa..."

Jace groans, holding his head as he sits up.

There's a thump on the floor and all goes silent.

"F-fire, Rayah." He whispers, struggling.

He's yanked from her and swears, dragged somewhere. "Ray!"
