Ryder I finish this stall and lead her into the next, leading the horse out like the first.

jace I stir and curl up further, burying my face in a pillow.

Ryder "Thank you," I say, doing the same.

Jace I slowly drift off and murmur in my sleep.

Ryder I study her when she comes to help, not sure why she would, but don't question it.

Jace I curl up under the covers and try to fall back asleep again.

Ryder I shrug. Would have been if life wasn't so hectic...

Jace I don't bother, closing my eyes again.

Ryder "Phoenix," I reply. "Well, a suburb outside of it." Sort of.

Jace I study her before flipping on my back as well and looking up at the ceiling.

Ryder I look up at her after a few minutes of silence and clear my throat, "So... uh, where are you from? Originally, I mean."

Jace I sigh before looking at her, "Nothing."

Ryder I nod and decide not to ask her about it, not sure whether it's a touchy subject or not. Instead, I continue to shovel crap into the wheelbarrow.

Jace I murmur into the pillow but don't look up, going on for a sentence or two.
