Jace flashes a smile. "Just stay awake, Ray."

"Get them over here anyway." He orders. "I was way too far gone and you helped me."

Jace swallows and looks at Jesse. "Do you know someone?"

Jace sets his clean hand against the side of her face. "Stay with me."

Jace swallows and holds Rayah closer, watching as she sleeps with worry.

Jace slowly makes his way to her, the ground sticky with his blood. "J-jesse, she's hurt." He murmurs, taking her carefully in his arms.

His eyes slowly open, his vision blurry, and the fear jumps back at him. "Rayah?" He sits up, still a little sore and tired.

Jace moans, stirring slightly, and swallows the blood in his mouth, still asleep.

Cool. Those two are at the top of the list for me next to the third book in the series I was already reading. Lol. *sighs* I have a lot ...
