"Um... maybe drying?" He offered her a washed plate, dripping with water. Then lowered his voice to a whisper. "Ray?"

"Wanna, uh... help me with the dishes?" Rek asked, glancing at her, hoping for an opportunity to talk to her.

"Please, just call me Aeron." He offered a friendly grin. "And the pleasure's all mine -- I look forward to serving alongside you all."

Aeron happened to overhear that and turned towards them with a small smile and a nod. "Sir Aeron Munen, at your service, miladies."

"Get to work," he snarled. "Or get out of the kitchen."

He looked at her with a scowl. "What are you gawking at?"

He decidedly refused to look back at her, not wanting the bandits to realize anything was up. Or Luke or Sarah either, for that matter. How was he supposed to… ...

Rek hesitantly grabbed the bar of soap off the counter and dunked it in the bucket of water. It was frigid and it took everything he had not to react ...

The bandit rolled his eyes. "Then get it moving." He rudely waved her off.

He was silent for a moment, then looked at his lackeys and jerked his head. "Go supervise." They nodded, and one grabbed Rek's arm and gave him a rough shove ...
