“Sure.” Sadie stood up with a groan. “It’ll be a longer walk than that, though, since we’re walking and not driving and stuff.”

“I feel like it wasn’t that long. Maybe five minutes? I bet I could find my car.”

“Yeah…” Sadie wrinkled her nose. “It’ll be gross to change back into the same undies tho. I wish I parked closer… where even are we?”

“Hmm… yeah… I guess I hadn’t really thought that far ahead,” Sadie said. She blushed a bit more before she added, “I’m just kind of grateful for a shower.”

“Ah… I mean… I don’t, usually, anyway… uh…” she blushed and shrugged.

“What?”

Sadie cringed. “I get that.”

“I mean, the battery didn’t make me cry.” Sadie rubbed her arm again. “Can’t say the same thing about when I was a cashier. Plenty of bathroom tears.”

“Yeah.” Sadie cringed. “But, hey, things are looking up! I can get zapped more for money. Easier than retail.”

“Oh, god, tell me about it,” Sadie said. “People are the literal worst.”

Sadie settled back against the wall with a grin. So she’d found a partner in crime. That was good. “The Perfect tip.”

“True that!” Sadie was silent for a long moment, then giggled wickedly. “What if I just doubled the bill for the tip?”

“I’m sure they’ll make us sign. I’ll just put that on the room, too.”

Sadie laughed, thoroughly pleased with herself. “How many waiters do you think it’ll take for them to carry it all up?”

Sadie grinned at them, pleased that they looked so happy. But she wasn't done. Oh, no. She took the phone back. "Right, yes, room 444. Charge it to the room. ...
