She sighed. “How much?”

“All you’ve given me is anxiety galore,” she argued. “Not the who, what, or why.”

Rana sighed and rubbed her face. “I thought this was supposed to be fun… I’m not having fun.”

“Okay… and we have the same… aura? He knows what’s going on?”

“Did you happen to get a name? How long ago did you see him?”

“…What did he look like?”

She squirmed. This wasn’t fun anymore. “… that’s very vague…”

She furrowed her brow at him, uneasy. “I don’t understand.”

She forced herself to take a deep breath, pushing down the anxiety. “What does that mean?”

“…What?” She’d been squirming with the effort of maintaining the eye contact.

She glanced at him, then away instinctively, then forced herself to look back, focusing all her attention on maintaining eye contact. (Her neurodivergent ass could never lol)

She uncertainly dipped her fingers in and then dabbed it on her forehead obediently.

“… uh…” she looked at him uncertainly.

She thought for a moment. “I suppose… where I’ll end up in life. My career, marriage, et. cetera… and how my little sister fares.”
